Can we please try to act like civilized Tech fans?

The posts here, in large number, are over the top. Decisions have been made and none of us here have any insider information to add. Is it necesssry to constantly use adjectives such as clown in regards to our program? Do you really believe you in any way, are helping build the program. It is what it is, support Tech if you are a supporter. Otherwise just keep it to yourself or simply go away.
As a normal rule, I agree with this. But we are not living in normal times. Our coach is an epic disaster. He’s really really really bad. The level of angst among Tech fans should be instructive, but it falls on deaf ears instead.

I get the impression that a nontrivial portion of the fanbase does not want the football team to reach the 8-win goal set by prominent boosters for next year, that some "fans" will be rooting for Tech to lose out if the 7-win mark is reached. The implication here is a scenario in which Tech losing our 12th game of the year is a means to justify the end for them. Those of this mindset will mutter under their breaths "Well, I'm glad I don't have to worry about us getting seven wins" but on the off-chance of it happening they will come to a crossroads. I hope I am wrong. I want Tech to win as many games as possible because Saturdays and seasons on the whole over the past few years have been miserable save for hanging out with friends.
I certainly can’t speak for all Tech fans, but I do believe you’re wrong. I believe most Tech fans that are mad as hell do not believe we have a chance of getting many wins next year. I don’t think our clown coach will win more than 2. But I’ll certainly be hoping we win every game.

I understand you feel that way about the group you personally identify with. I think everyone is frustrated with the results and most of us want the team to win. But I'm clearly not talking about you or the majority of the dissatisfied, including myself, here.

I'll put it bluntly: I think there are fans on this board and in the fanbase in general that would trade wins to get rid of Geoff Collins because reasons. I think they're pieces of trash. If that sentiment resonates with you then we're on the same page.

Are you a child? Telling others to shut up or simply go away because you don't like what they post.

öööö you and, your muzzle, and the horse you rode in on. You don't like the posts, either respond to them or ignore that which annoys you. It's not rocket surgery.

It’s really hard for me to understand a GT fan cheering against GT so we fire our coach. So if we’re 5-6 going into the Uga game, do you think some of our fans will hope Uga wins to ensure GC is gone?

I think the emotions and thought processes are more nuanced than that for a lot of people. I show up to every game hoping Tech wins. But there were certainly times this year where I thought “well, if we’re going to lose, at least it shows where we’re really at and gets us closer to making some kind of change.”

I gave some credit for moral victories early in the year, but by the end I felt like 100-0 was more indicative of where we are as a program than 14-8, so that’s a silver lining to the blowouts - shining a light on our deficiencies and eliminating excuses.

Great post. I think most of these people you are talking about are probably 18 year olds. We all know what we were like before we got out in the real world.

God bless you for showing up to every game. And I don’t disagree with your post. After our 3rd 3 win season, I too thought, “well at least the path forward is crystal clear.”

But it appears TStan is gonna stick with “his man,” so I’ll be hoping GC somehow learns to coach and we win next year even though I have no expectation that will actually happen.

I am sympathetic to the desire to keep things positive, as I lean that way myself. And I am probably less negative than 95 percent of the board where Collins is concerned. However, if all the angry, uncivilized people left, this place would be a ghost town.

And the clown/hair stuff is funny, so there's that. Mockery can be a valid coping mechanism.
The clown hair is funny, the constant attack on the program or the head of the program does nothing to help us.
Collins met our needs and quite frankly still does. This process is very difficult. Changing out damn near the whole roster put us at risk and sure enough, it hurts when the losing followed. But who didn’t see much of this coming? Fans are not being the least bit supportive at our programs most needed moment. Stand up and help. “You” don’t have to lie, “you” have made yourself heard and changes are occurring. But give it a rest and try to help a little.

But what if someone in the know decided it was better to hold our class together, or wait a year due to monetary reasons and the fact that recruiting is very important right now, or whatever. Those decisions have been made. The page has been turned, support your program.
Nobody ever said it was easy being a Tech fan.
