Can we please try to act like civilized Tech fans?

The clown hair is funny, the constant attack on the program or the head of the program does nothing to help us.
Collins met our needs and quite frankly still does. This process is very difficult. Changing out damn near the whole roster put us at risk and sure enough, it hurts when the losing followed. But who didn’t see much of this coming? Fans are not being the least bit supportive at our programs most needed moment. Stand up and help. “You” don’t have to lie, “you” have made yourself heard and changes are occurring. But give it a rest and try to help a little.
Poasts on StingTalk do not influence anything. You're giving the board too much credit.

Anyway, I guarantee that, on average, StingTalkers have been out to more games this year than the average fan.

Stingtalk posts don’t influence öööö you’re correct and I will die defending that with you, but interviews to AJC from $1M+ boosters was something we could have done without. The only time I can see where that is justified is if the boosters are not being listened to so they have to post ultimatums on the paper but it was still damaging after the decision was made to carry on with Collins for next year. Bunch of middle aged retards yelling on a board not known for its levelheadedness is the least of Tech football program’s concerns.

Coming off of three 3-win seasons, particularly the way the last two games went, it’s better right now that we fans may lose a little civility rather than to turn to complete apathy and not care anymore.

It’s probably easier to walk away and not care than it is to stick it out, become a little un-civil, and hope for better days. We all should know by now that it is not easy being a Tech fan.

We had apathy for most of the year. Apathy leaves its place for outrage when you lose to a historic rival by 55 points and your arch nemesis by 45. If the last two games didn’t go as badly as they did we might not have had the fanbase up in arms.

Are you a child? Telling others to shut up or simply go away because you don't like what they post.

öööö you and, your muzzle, and the horse you rode in on. You don't like the posts, either respond to them or ignore that which annoys you. It's not rocket surgery.

I am trying to support the team and take away your rattle at the same time.

Outrage!!! It’s a friggin game. I get that it matters. We are down, we will get back up. ND and UGA are very good football teams. Back in the 70’s, we would win 7 games and still get beat by ND 63-7. We didn’t quit the way you whiners have.
Our leadership analyzed and made decisions with more to follow. Let things work and support your team.
I coached 2500 games or so. There are still games from 20 years ago that I made a mistake and wish I could get back. But when you compete so often you learn to lose too. The OUTRAGE ends pretty quickly particularly when you see your program is making improvements to the best of their ability.
And message Boards do matter. Recruits, other fans, etc get to watch how your program acts when it’s down.

The posts here, in large number, are over the top. Decisions have been made and none of us here have any insider information to add. Is it necesssry to constantly use adjectives such as clown in regards to our program? Do you really believe you in any way, are helping build the program. It is what it is, support Tech if you are a supporter. Otherwise just keep it to yourself or simply go away.
I think there would be alot more support if the head coach took responsibility, admitted what he was doing wasn't working, said the fans and supporters deserved better, and that he would eliminate noise and distractions and focus on putting a well-prepared, disciplined team on the field.

First, let me say that I truly hope CGC can turn things around.

I think the outrage comes from the part no one saw coming. We were told it was going to be a difficult transition from the TO. Nobody that I know doubted that. There were two things IMHO that turned things.

What they didn't say, and nobody saw coming, was that our defense was going to become a disaster AFTER the fourth game of the third season. Had the D continued to play like they did in the first four games, we wouldn't be having this discussion. That shined a light into every corner. I think everyone would have even given the O-Line a pass. Even Patenaude would still have his job. So, would the D-back coaches.

The second was CGC was tone deaf to everything going on around him. If there was ever a wrong way to reply to a reporter's question, he seemed to find it. His opening comments at pressers always shut the door to what everyone wanted to know. He shut out everyone that was dying to support the team. And that is a problem, because incrementally improving and posting wins isn't going to mend those fences easily. That's a bigger hole than the team finds themselves in.

Frankly, the outrage is a good thing. If the fanbase wasn't pissed, we'd be Cubs and Jags fans.

Nice response Clapper, your points make sense.
I am very frustrated and certainly the defensive performance was the main issue.
But those issues were quickly addressed, denigrating our program further is of no value.

I thought that we had established that official StingTalk policy is not to be civilized, but to keep the voilent threats to minimum. Not even a complete moratorium on voilent threats, mind you, just to keep it to the minimum level needed to mentally cope with the current coaching regime. I trust our mods to determine whether a threat rises above the minimum or not.

Calling Collins a clown does zero harm to the program following back to back to back 3-9 seasons. Hell, not calling him out as the clown he is probably does do real harm.

Simply amazed at the anger after 3 years. They’re celebrating losses down in the bball forum year 6 lol
Because we aren’t constantly finishing with a 25% win season… Hell, our worst record in basketball was right above .400, our best record in football was .300… but I guess that doesn’t matter does it?
