Catch Me Up?

Y’all trash Sims yet Sims passer rating is higher than Dart, but Dart is an upgrade over the QB they lost to the NFL?

We’ll find out who real Ole Miss is.
And in that same timeframe what are GT’s records again? 1 winning season at 7-6. Surrounded by 5,3,3,3 with losses to G5 and FCS schools in the worst conference in the country.

You’re kidding right? The difference between the 2 programs is 2-fold at the moment. From HC’s to talent. While I generally agree with a lot of what you say, I’m not sure what kool-aid you’re drinking with this one. If you want to make an argument for beating UCF, that’s much more realistic at this point.

The burden of proof is on you my guy. It was your comment that Dart was an upgrade when he was no better than the guy some want to replace.

As i posted above, Kiffin has his own concerns about chemistry and meshing the talent

Who said I'm rooting for them to fail. Hell, I hope we go 12-0 but I'm not an idiot. Actually, I hope we go 12-0 go win a natty and fire our asshat coach with you in tow.

Damn, I guess your Christmas wish list isn't as far fetched as mine.

You're the butthurt lil beech like the rest of these clowns supporting the single dumbest hire in GT Athletics. He's actually worse than Bill Lewis when it comes to the game regardless of the record he has.
It's crazy for everyone to be arguing about this.
Collins' results speak for itself.
From the second he took the job the results are on him. Not the previous coach. Not the fans. Not the schedule but him.
Yeah, our talent is marginally better but to what end? Better talent should result in more wins but it hasn't.
You can like this coach or hate him but the results are still 3-3-3.
Maybe this is the year Collins figures it out....doubtful based on past results...but Maybe.

I was there. I know what I saw and what others also said.
Apparently you don't. I was there too and remember. And referring to your post in the other thread... he did not swap QB's in the middle of a drive in the first quarter or first half of that game for that matter. If you'd like to know, here is the breakdown:

1st quarter/1st possession:
-QB power run left 2yd
-read option right QB keep 1yd
-pass L 11yd
-handoff middle 9yd
-QB run right 2yd
-QB sacked -11yd (should have only been about 5 but he didn't go down and kept retreating)
-incomplete screen pass
-QB power right 3yd
-punt

1st quarter/2nd possession:
-swing pass R overthrown, receiver open would have been 7+ yard gain
-read option middle QB keep 4yd (should have given it to Dontae, big hole and likely 1st down)
-pass to flats L underthrown, receiver open would have been close to 1st down
-punt

1st quarter/3rd possession:
-delay of game - play was in, line was set, QB didn't call for snap
-QB run right 39yd
-deep pass R incomplete
-read option QB run R 5yd
-option R QB keep 2yd
-punt

2nd quarter/4th possession:
-handoff middle 5yd
-QB power L 4yd
-handoff middle, fumbled mesh

2nd quarter/5th possession:
-shovel pass right 0yd
-QB rollout run right 8yd
-QB run L 10yd
-handoff R 11yd
-delay handoff middle 6yd
-handoff R 3yd
-handoff middle 0yd
-handoff middle 0yd (turnover on downs)

2nd quarter/6th possession:
-swinging gate formation, QB run right 1yd
-under center QB sneak 0yd
-direct snap to RB mason middle 0yd
-under center PA rollout right intercepted

2nd quarter /7th possession:
-handoff L 9yd
-handoff M 3yd
-sack -8yd
-handoff R 1yd
-read option QB keep (should have given on the counter, big hole) 0yd
-punt

Tobias Oliver was QB for every one of those plays. Our 8th possession came with 58 seconds left in the 1st half and we were down 28-0. Lucas Johnson was sent in to see if he could muster any spark on offense. He did little to nothing and Tobias came back out as the starter in the 3rd quarter.

3rd quarter/9th possession:
-handoff middle 2yd
-sack -10yd
-sack -3yd
-punt

3rd quarter/10th possession:
-wheel route pass to Howard 54yd
-handoff R 14yd
-option L pitch 7yd TD

3rd quarter/11th possession:
-QB draw 6yd
-QB power L 2yd
-handoff M 2yd
-pass over middle intercepted

After this point James Graham took over with 4:23 left in the 3rd quarter and we were down 42-7. Now, care to elaborate more on how we mis-managed that game by taking Oliver out?

If you were there, did you see Collins sprinkle some Coachemup on TO pregame? Oh, you didn't? Well that's because the bottle was empty and why we lost

Every program has their concerns about chemistry right now with the transfer portal additions. You don’t think Mel Tucker felt the same way last year when he pretty much added a roster of transfers?

My point On the upgrade has more to do with leadership and a better LR presence. Go back and look at Corral all the way back to his recruitment. To his credit, he’s admitting his faults now.

You can try and tell me Sims is better than Dart (which you certainly have a right to say) but you leave out the amount of time Sims didn’t play last year due to injury. Dart played because of the injury to Slovis as well. He’s now in a better system under Kiffin who is known for producing high level QB play. Record speaks for itself there. I doubt many people expect Sims to have a better year than Dart. But we’ll see.

I really don't know of anything from above that points to Clemson doing anything but dominating us.

@ibeeballin played football… for Tech. At least give him that respect please otherwise I’m not sure you’re going to get a lot of respect in the football forum.
But he could never deal with how deceptively slow I am. Threw him off all game.

We tried and it didn’t work. A lot of amnesia in here

Ummm No. That's not an example of transitioning, that's an example of an idiot coach trying to run an option play. No amnesia here, I said in 2019 that we ran off a guy who had perfected the option to instead hire a guy who wanted to run a pro set and instead tried to run a poor mans option. Look at the oline blocking or lack thereof. 55 completely missed his block, or just didn't know what he was supposed to do.

Amazing how folks have forgotten how well the option was working against Clemson and UGAg the last several years of CPJ. We were having a lot of plays where the DT's were almost taking the ball away during the dive handoff/fake. I love the short memories. JT5 was good at buying CPJ a few more good years because JT5 was a damn baller. We fell off the damn cliff when he left.

"On the field, Georgia Tech will play both NFL style offenses and defenses per Collins." From his introductory press conference. That is a guy who made it clear we weren't playing to the strengths of an option-talented team. Running an occasional option play (and doing so poorly) is not an example of a coach trying to transition.

Which is the problem. Georgia Tech is trying to run the same offense as bama and georgie. There was no law saying we had to hire a coach who can't run the option and had to try and run a pro style offense.
Just for those curious what my original statement was. Not sure what else "Georgia Tech will play both NFL style offenses and defenses" could have meant...
