CGC Comments at FCA Luncheon

The quote was: "physical superiority cancels all theories." I remember that in reference to the Orange Bowl game vs. Iowa in which Iowa's D put the clamps down on the offense (IIRC, Iowa had like 7 or 8 of the 11 on d that night play in the NFL, including Adrian Clayborne, who is back with the Falcons).
And they were all on steroids

Yea, and didn't Iowa get the hammer dropped on them for PED's the next year, IIRC?

Just returned from an FCA fundraiser at which CGC spoke. (Were any of you there, too?) Thought I'd share some of this comments for those with an interest in every drop of juice they can get...
Great report. Thanks for taking the time to write this up.

As an aside, you used numbers 4 and 5 twice. Are you testing our attention to detail or does CGC need to have a one-on-one talk with you? :)

Sure. They had the holy grail of football—a dline that can get pressure/disrupt without having to blitz. Throw in a good coordinator and you can see how they were close to being undefeated that season.

Wouldn’t have mattered what scheme GT ran with how good they were upfront.

Even still, it was a 3 point game until about 4 minutes left. ;)

"The way you do anything is the way you do everything." I guess that tells you how I do things! Thanks for pointing that out – fixed now.
