I thought CPJ was awesome, but yes, it was time for him to retire. I don't see how you see the need to wait another year thought to fully evaluate Collins. I haven't seen anything yet to indicate that he has a clue how to coach or manage a coaching staff. P'Nut should have gone after last season, and I know many fans who said the same. Unfortunately, Collins doesn't seem able to admit mistakes, especially in press conferences, when he won't even make eye contact with the press and ignores, even to the point of smirking at, questions about the fans. With the RBs we have now, I would gladly focus predominantly on the running game, but only if P'Nut would call plays that make any sense at the time he calls them. Not once have I indicated happiness nor contentment with CGC. However, he's the HC now and for at least another year so I'm waiting til then to pass final criticism. Certainly, there's much to raise eyebrows about at the moment. If you're remotely suggesting anything political, you clearly haven't read my posts in that forum, to put it mildly.
But I don't want to return to 42 pass attempts in an entire season of football, annual 6-7 win ceilings, and people calling 30 QB keepers every game "offensive genius" even as we got annually ass-raped by the likes of Duke and had long been passed-over by the mutts and Clemson.
You and the rest of the PJ Fan Club need to accept that PJ knew he was leaving a bare cupboard behind so he quit on us. You Settling Sallies & Masters of Mediocrity can take your Motor City Bowl losses and shove 'em where the sun don't shine.
Let him go.
