What is it with boomers and being comically and over-the-top scared of urban areas for literally no reason

Btw I'm a Trump voter

Have you ever been to USC? It’s a beautiful campus in a rough neighborhood.

GT with Techwood Homes on 2 sides would be a pretty apt comparison. They have the 110 on one side of campus and we have the downtown connector.

And with the crazy expansion of theft and homelessness in California over the last decade I’m sure it hasn’t gotten any better since I visited.

Not a boomer…

Honestly, this is just sounds like some young kid (gen z) living in a midtown highrise who has no sense of what life is like outside of his gated community and then is surprised when people who have lived it feel differently. I could give stories about CHI, LA, MSP, ATL… not worth it. Home Park is a stroll compared to most of these. Maybe he will grow into understanding, maybe not. Ultimately his choice. Wish him the best either way. Once money, marriage, and kids come into the picture it suddenly doesn’t make much sense to live in an urban area. Pick your reason: cost, education, crime, green space, most on here have lived and heard it all. Some decide to stay, most do not.

No reason? ROTFLMFAO.

I lived in LA in my 30s. Worked in downtown LA. 5th and Grand, Not sure it gets more urban.

Worked in downtown DC for several years. Dupont Circle; K Street; Penn Quarter. Pretty urban.

Spent a lot of time in Miami. And Atlanta in the 70s/80s. Urban and urban.

But I never liked going to Anacostia, Liberty City, or Techwood Projects late at night, at least not unarmed. Same for Crenshaw or Inglewood. Guess I'm not a badass tough guy like you. But you're right - never any violent crime in those areas.

Your post is idiotic, but then again you already self-identified as a moron with the last line in your post. I suggest you make that your sig-tag.
My parents lived in Miami in the 80's and early 90's. What would be the reason to be in Liberty City at night? You buying crack rock?

To prove how safe it is. Like the couple who decided to trek through the Middle East because they wanted to show how loving the locals were.

I forget how that turned out.

My first wife lived in the neighborhood bordering East Gate Shopping Center in Marietta when I started dating her in '85. Things like that turn out badly.

I hear the entire marriage turned out badly.

Badabing!

It took all of 30 seconds to find this article about the wonderful area around the Mausoleum . . . and this is a POSITIVE article from the USC newspaper!

https://dailytrojan.com/2021/04/26/usc-should-invest-in-exposition-park/

"A 160-hectare urban park, Expo Park has all the potential to be the South Central escape. However, 6.3 violent crimes occur every week. To those who have visited, Expo Park is a sad backdrop to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum."
How many square furlongs in a hectare?

Bill O'Brien after a natty this year and a Saban scrubbing, buff & shine will be the Belle of the Ball. Could see him at USC.

I thought his heart was the reason he got out of coaching.

What? Too soon?
I wonder why he would get back into coaching? Reminds me of the Jack Handy...."why would a person dive into a frozen river to save a solid gold baby? Perhaps we'll never know"
