Clem's son loses one

Can someone provide the Venn diagram of Clemmons football recruits that are eligible to attend Tech? :shady:

I think its about playing time rather than offense. Clemson also snagged the #1 QB in this year's class, Trevor Lawrence (Fields actually ended up #2 in the end) who is a 6'5" pro style QB in the mold of a Matt Ryan. Dabo is not wed to a particular offensive philosophy. He has just had a bunch of dual threat guys recently.

I watched Cartersville play on TV last year ... and Lawrence can play. If Fields is better than this kid, he's an all-timer then.

Pro style QB? Too bad Dabo is probably blocking him from transferring to GT. We could develop Pistol options for him.
You're kidding right? Even if the kid wanted to transfer to Tech johnson would say that Tech has no position for him to play. Go somewhere else.

GT could run the pistol and the diamond. I'm sure CPJ would be willing to try that for a particularly talented young QB.

Best QB in North Carolina is the 50th best QB in Georgia

True. Vad was a 3 star and Georgia high schools have produced multiple 5 stars in some recent years, including both # 1 and # 2 in this past class.

I would imagine that if a Matt Ryan or Peyton Manning clone desperately wanted to be an engineer, CPJ wouldn't tell him to get lost. He could always modify into a sort of run and shoot deal. Didn't CPJ's Hawaii offenses throw a lot? This is actually one of the "what if" scenarios I think about when I'm bored.

I love idle offseason speculation!https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Run_and_shoot_offense

He was obviously joking and youre trolling . Lol. No one thinks the kid would come here and no one can reasonably think Dabo wouldnt object if he did.

Although I am in no way interested in the nfl, I was at restaurant and an ESPN program was on.

An NFL draft "expert" ( whatever that is worth) said CU may have 6 DL drafted in the next NFL draft - in the 1st round.

I wouldn't be worried about much either.

Regardless, I would love for a 4/5 * s/a to have an interest in coming to GT.

Doesn't matter .

öööö Matt Ryan. That wasn't pass interference by Guyton. It was good defense. I wish that cup in the South end zone had hit Ryan. öööö that guy.

I swear Dabo signs 5-star QBs just to get those recruiting rankings up even though he knows he will likely lose one or two to transfer.

Urban does, too. Seems Kirby is trying that method, as well. Makes sense if you can land them. Competition and depth. In reality, though, everybody stockpiles QBs. We have a lot of transfers at that position too.

Also scorched earth -- if you get 'em, your opponents don't (at least not right away)

More likely he, like everyone else, knows that lots of great HS players don't turn out to be great CFB players.

To Dabo's credit, only a few elite teams can even sign a 5-star QB. Its not like anyone can just sign one a year.
