All so a bunch of snot nosed punk ass kids like Nico Imaleaving, Shadier Sanders, and Farcen Beck can drive Lambos and wear big hunks of metal around their necks before they ever spend one day at a real job.Pretty annoying when this has been part of the season ticket package every other year and now this…
Do you get access to Harrah's club with that?Section 213; $365.25/seat incl. fees
Your message is not clear. There are two very different interpretations of your question, but the answer to either is, "yes" ;)Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think GT gets our money regardless of how many tickets are sold, right?
Fixed it! I think this one game is going to set just what the limit is going to be for Tech fans. I know of two people that have said, "No Thanks", and they are long time season ticket holders, both Tech alum as well. I'm having a hard time justifying the expense for 'one' ticket that is costing nearly the same amount for the rest of the entire season. Look I understand we need the money to stay competitive in the NIL market. I get that, I'm just saying that I am still wrestling with - is that what I want to support now. Not sure I do when I can watch it on TV for free. Now switch it to PPV and then we can talk further. I think you're going to see a lot of Techies in the nose bleed section.Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think GT gets SOME OF our money regardless of how many tickets are sold, right?
I don't get the "It's to expensive" excuse. Sitting in the front of the 300 section isn't a bad seat and won't break the bank. Being buthurt that seats in "your section" are crazy expensive is lame. We need fans to show up no matter where they are sitting.Fixed it! I think this one game is going to set just what the limit is going to be for Tech fans. That part is true from my recollectionMy understanding was that MBS paid GT like $10 million for the game. That payment was not contingent on how many seats GT fans bought. Also, GT does not benefit in any way based on the number of tickets bought such that not going to the game doesn't impact GT at all.
This part is loser mentalityThat being said, I fully agree with the sentiment of you and others that why would I spend $1,000 for 4 tickets to a single game. I'm not likely to pull the trigger. Might buy on the secondary market.
Cheapness really doesn't have anything to do with it. Well, maybe for some. My point, in MY case is, I'm getting to the point where I am looking at return on investment - something gaggers probably don't understand. But my question to you Czar, at what point? Surely there is some point at which even you will not buy a ticket. What is it, $500, $750, $1000, $5000. Where does it stop? That was my point. Some people have already said enough. I don't consider them cheap. The couple I know fly to Vegas EVERY year for her birthday. They go on at least two cruises a year, Just got back from a trip to DC. Yet, they have said enough. Maybe they prioritize Tech football less than you. I don't know. Yes, I'm old, but I still have ticket stubs from when it was $10 to see Tech play Duke. That's the difference in our fanbase, most of us know how to spend money, which is why we HAVE money. So, to summarize:
We want Tech Football to be competitive with the best teams in the country; but we don't wanna pay the ticket prices that the best teams in the country charge.
If you base the ticket price being too high on the fact that the other games are being sold for too cheap, then we should raise all home game prices so you get used to it
Cheap bastards

Instead, they said that they won't make it a mandatory buy-in even though the upper level is a $100 option. Is that not better for Tech fans?I would have tried something like this - make it a mandatory part of the season ticket package, but with seating options at different price levels. Pay a premium price for great seats. Have a $75 to $85 option for upper level. Let them decide how much they want to pay balanced with where they want to sit. Fill up the seats a section at a time, which makes it less likely you end up in a section with lots of Dawg fans. Give the students plenty of seats in an end zone and corners. Make sure they are there and loud. We are robbing them of a Georgia game on campus, which does not happen but two, maybe three times while a student.
I've lost confidence in us winning any game at MBS or whatever pro stadium is in Atlanta. We've have never won the Peach Bowl. We don't win our games in MBS, other than the UNC game, and we beat UNC more often than not anyway. Hell, got our ass handed to us by LSU in a bowl. Those things make going to Atlanta Fulton County stadium, Georgia Dome, MBS unpleasant. The real problem is that our fan base has lost confidence in our chances for a win in Atlanta against the Dawgs. One thing was obvious - many season ticket holders sold their seats on the secondary market for the Georgia game each year. The red throughout the lower West, club section, and midfield upper deck sections made that abundantly clear. It should not have taken a marketing genius to realize if you gave them a choice on buying tickets, many would pass.

The real money is not in ticket sales for sporting events anymore anyway. It's the TV package and revenue distribution. So, if you choose to not go, make damn sure your TV is turned on and set to the right channel.
Then don't expect a top-notch programSo we sold a home game to MBS (or whoever is running the thing) for $10M. Presumably they feel like they can make that money back and more by charging extortionate ticket prices. Does Tech see any part of those ticket sales, or did we just take a flat $10M?
Even if we do get a cut of the ticket sales, how does that help with NIL - doesn’t that still have to be handled external to the athletic department? (If anything, paying $300 for one game ticket might reduce the amount of money somebody has to donate to NIL.)
I have plenty of money. I wouldn’t say that I’m cheap - I buy nice things and travel a lot and all that. But as much as I love GT football, we’re bumping up against what I’m willing to spend for one regular season football game. Especially when that game got cut out of our season ticket package and moved to another venue. Could I spend $300 without missing it? Certainly. Do I want to spend $300 to go to MBS and get barked at for 4 hours while we lose to the Dwags again? I’m not sure that I do.
