Collins or Satterwhite?

Another thing about Whisenhunt is that since the Chargers will be in the playoffs, we wouldn't have a new coach in action until some time in January, or even February if they made the Super Bowl.

Geoff Collins is from Conyers. His dad used to be seen running around town a lot. His mom left his dad for his dad's brother, so his uncle is also his stepdad. Weird situation.

Paul Johnson with a top 30 class every year could have had multiple top 10 finishes and probably split the COFH 50/50. Yes we have a lot going against us in recruiting but one of those things was the offense. I do want a scheme advantage but I dont want to hire someone just for that reason. We're doing everything else we can to improve recruiting, so we need a coach who can recruit better than 8th in SBC. And whoever that guy is we need to pay him and his assistants a öööö load of money.

Sure, but GT hasn’t never consistently had top 30 classes. The school is a bigger factor in recruiting, IMO. I do think that the program can improve in this area, but consistent classes ranked where you mentioned isn’t going to happen unless the school (read: the hill) changes. Prez bud has shown little to no ability to help the athletic programs.

So, we’re back to needing more money for the program then. Buying season tickets and contributing to the program would be a good start. Is the notoriously cheap fanbase ready to commit $$$? Need follow through on Tstan’s initiatives. We’ll know pretty quickly how serious the school is about competing based upon the budget the new coach is given.

How is Satterfield any better than the guy at ND state who isn’t exactly tearing things up at Wyoming? Or why is he a better candidate than JMU’s coach.
JMU and ND State are FCS. App State is FBS. They won the Sun Belt 3 straight years, took Penn State and Tennessee to OT during that time, and went 3-0 in bowl games. I honestly don't know much about him other than App State's results under him, but those results are very impressive.

JMU of 2016 and 2017 and North Dakota State every year would run shop in the Sun Belt too, even with the scholarship disadvantages. Sun Belt is mostly trash.

Look at you, can't wait to suck a dwag off after years of ööööting on our head coach. Think you've pretty much outed yourself.

Yeah, someone who really hates GT so much attends games for 57 years, family gives money since 67, gives a car to the President of the school and wants to hire a good football coach. That is true hate.

Those who really love GT want to hire someone who has proven to be a losing coach, but maybe has the proper “background” as well.

Why did you give a car to the President of Tech? Which President? And what car? Inquiring minds want to know.

Jeff Monken has won as a head coach in GA, has won at a very difficult place to win while taking a current CFP favorite to overtime in Oklahoma, he is a very personable and passionate person almost a 180 from CPJ’s personality, and he happens to run the triple option. It’s the most obvious hire.

Well, if we are trying to be more SEC then this is a plus for him.

And we can afford Monken (and it wont be a complete rebuild).
