complaints........

First - let me say that I appreciate the moderators creating this board and giving us a forum for all our opinions, comments, debates, views on GT the school and its sports programs. It's been a place where over a period of time - we have all stated in one way or another our genuine support and love for GT. For a person who didn't attend this school, it's my adopted school. It was easy to gravitate to because it holds so much of what I came from and know. It was easy to associate with and support as a fan even in all those years winning was hard to come by!

It's been a place where I've ALWAYS said we're all here for the same reason - we love GT and support their programs! I've tried to remind folks of that in the past when we get into heated debates about coaching or whatever and it seems that if the debator is not in line with liking the coach or stating an opposing position - you're labeled:

1. A non-supporter
2. Not a diehard
3. Don't care about the program
4. A personal attacker
5. A "Lynch" mob
6. A bandwagon fan.....

It goes on and on. I find that unreasonable in the words and the message it's sending to those who choose to state their "true" feelings about why they're here and why they care. The only problem I have, is being called something that is not true, not based in anyting but an opinion of another poster and totally unfounded because of a disagreement.

This board has given us all a commonality in our love and support for this school and its sports programs - but did I ever think we would all feel the same, like the same, be the same - no! Matter-of-fact, because we're not the same it's why we read each others messages - we bring different views, different highlights, different memories. I came here because it was a place that other Tech fans would be. I wouldn't expect us to all be the same or see things the same way. But it seems sometimes there are those who want it that way. I don't think cloning is what we want.

I would hope that the moderators understand that however I or someone else expresses themselves on the different topics registered here - it's not because we want failure - it's quite the opposite, we care deeply and with our reservations, concerns and debate - we come here to pronounce those opinions because of our support.

To say nothing, when I see something I'm concerned with is to not care. I would hope that this board continues to allow us the freedoms we have been given to express ourselves and understand it's not failure we want and never was!

It's been fun and have delightfully met some good fans and supporters!

Are you not aware that the labels go both ways. Some of us are called FOCers and other things just because we want to change the tone of the board? We are not pro or con CG. We are just wanting a good positive tone. The Bible even tells us to think on the good and positive things, not dwell on the negative and bad. Doing the latter will rob everyone of joy and happiness.

You say that your only problem is being called something that is not true. Is it possible that others do not like to be called something that is not true? Also if that is your only problem, I think that it can be fixed right now, if you will just give it a rest.

Are you not aware that your devaluation of our coaching staff is an opinion which is totally unfounded? Your opinions are the only ones founded on truth?

We (maybe it is just me) just get sick of you saying on every thread the same old opinionated negatives because you did not like CG when he was hired, you do not like him because of his past season, you do not like him because of your feelings in your gut, we are not going to have a good season next year because your guts never lie, etc., etc., etc. ad nauseum.

I dont mind negativity. Make your statement as negative as you can make it, and then give it a rest. A two headed man would be criticised to death by you. When he cant do a thing about it, you would continue to call him a two headed freak every post until he either cut one of his heads off or removed himself from your sight. Well, there is not a thing that can be done about what is already set by GT. So, all I am saying is cheer the Jackets on, not load them up with continuous negativity. Why cant you see that?

Mustard: When a thread gets started someone usually starts with the topic - in most cases lately it's been about coaching and where we're going and why. I have answered those threads with how I feel. You answer with how you feel - I've never berated you for it - you're entitled. So am I.

I don't come here not to post - I come here to post and voice my opinion. I've more then once stated what was not right for me, you've stated what's right for you, it's fair an equal.

I have chosen to answer most threads when the topics are brought up about him, his coaching, his history, his resume, with my feelings and perceptions just like everyone else. The fact that I am not enamored by his coaching bothers you. I could say the same about those who are enamored with him but I don't.

The topics are our discussions - am I suppose to stay out of the discussion because I have the feelings I have and they don't agree with yours or anyone elses that not like mine? I could say the same about posters on the other side but I don't. It's not fair and I would never consider it.

Your asking us who differ to be silent but you let those on the other side say their piece, I don't think so. The problem you have is you mind the opinion I have, I on the other hand don't mind your opinion of this coach - it does not bother me, you're entitled to do and feel as you please.

The only time this gets old is when you want us not to speak our opinions but it's okay to speak yours. I find that unfair and serve no purpose other then telling other what to do. I can't tell you how to feel and would never choose to do so - it's vice versa for me.

By the way, have I ever said I wouldn't be there cheering the Jackets on? Never, because I will be there - with season tix and (2) mini packages.

I appreciate this forum provided to express all folks' views."71" summed it up for me.Any coach or player is in the spotlight for better or worse as long as it doesn't get personal.
For all those like me who just "hunt and peck",I commiserate with you in trying to get your point across with minimal words .. er..alacrity..

Amen to Mustard. What a post. We would do well to follow his lead here. I can easily understand how readers and posters here could be upset over the outcome of last season. It's no sweet pill to swallow, but there is NO use in beating this horse to death. Let's not dwell on the mistakes of the past but press on to and take advantage of the opportunity to improve in the future.
I see quite often where the GT fan base is referred to as "Family". So, if we were to have a family member to come in to hard times, become injured, receive no help from their superiors, etc., would we treat them harshly? I certainly would hope not. Then what is the difference here?
Why can't we pull together and support our program instead of being a continuous stumbling block?
Censorship? Heavens no! Restraint by posters? Of Course.
Hats off to GTFan and Mustard for his reply.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Nope. I do not say what I feel . . . on this board or anywhere else for that matter. I have an accountability for my words and even my thoughts.

I wanted to appeal to you to:
1. Bring positive tone to your posts.
2. Hate our coach but not say it on every opportunity.
3. Never ever say anything good about CG. Just quit spewing forth negativity.
4. Think that it might be possible that we who love GT want to support our team and coaches this season. Negativity about what cannot be changed is not support.
5. Hear it when someone says that your opinions are not the sole creators of truth in the real world.
6.
7. Respond with other than "feelings" and "guts" when asked for facts supporting your predictions.

But alas, your receptors are as faulty as your processor. Thus I cannot communicate with you, and hence, this post will make no sense to you.

So rock away, MsTA. Please go ahead and say what you "feel." Hammer away. Fill every void with cheap negativity.

Before you go, MsTA, please take a deep breath and note this for your own spiritual sake: We must all remember God's Law of the Harvest: "we reap what we sow." In modern Existential lingo: "what goes around comes around."

This what goes around comes around thing sounds threatening, do you actually think I worry about God judging me on not liking Chan Gailey the coach?????????

NEVER IN ANY TIME, DAY, FORUM, CURRENT OR FUTURE POSTING - YOU NAME IT! It's truly unfortunate that some type of negative connotation to me is what has to be said because until I feel good about GT coach - some 'go around thing should come my way' - that is sad comment from any fan!

While all GT fans hope for a successful season, it would be unproductive and boring not to excersize debate without negativity. Most definitely, athletic staff and players should never be personally attacked. Critical analysis is the open door to good debate. As for me, don't change a good thing. I just won't read threads that are offensive.
