Conference Championship Games Thread

Phenomenal game, amazing watching solid play like this. Can’t see what BOB is doing based on the cameras but he is getting a lot out of the pass game. Good job getting in the zones deep.

Utah started FIVE freshmen on defense last night, including two on their D-line. All of their top four cornerbacks are true freshmen. How does this work? Maybe they know how to coach them up? Nevermind - Jimmies and Joes ALWAYS beat X's and O's, amirite? :puke:

Their leading tackler last night was a true freshman safety named Cole Bishop. From Fayettteville, GA!!! Eight tackles, seven solo, one sack and one pass defended. A three star whom Kirby prolly puked at. I know Tech tried to croot him. Anyone know what went wrong and he wound up way the hell out in Utah?

Their left tackle is a huge monster JUCO trasnsfer from London, England who just started playing football a few years ago. Their best receiver is a 5'8" former HS QB. Their thousand yard starting RB was anotrher JUCO transfer was literally living in a car a year ago. He replaced another kid who no one wanted and who became PAC-12 freshman of the year before he died of an accidental gunshot last December. That kid, Ty Jordan, was SPECIAL.

AFAIK, they have one former four star on the defense - one of the freshman CBs. Their QB is also a former four-star who transferred from Texas. I believe that is it.

MaxPreps and Rivals and 247Sports do not have a lock on deciding who can play and who can't. No one offered any FBS scholarships to Aaron Rodgers. Josh Allen barely got one. Carson Wentz? Wound up in FCS. Rivals had Aaron Donald as a three star. Etc., etc., etc.

We can have all the 404 and WH and money down and juice in the world, but we will NEVER out-croot ugag, Bama, Clemson, UF, etc. for prep ranking websites' 4 and 5 stars even in our own backyard.

Maybe we should find someone who can spot the talent that the geniuses at Rivals and Maxpreps miss, or who somehow wind up in JUCO, AND who can actually "coach 'em up?"
The flip side of all that gibberish you wrote above is how do we end up with the Top10 OLs on our Roster, all were nationally ranked as the 800th player or worse when they came out of HS.

That T-Fr safety was a Top100 Player in-State (Top75 actually), the kind of Recruit that I have talked about GT going after since Day1, he was committed to Duke, turned down GT and flipped to Utah because he liked their Defense and thought Utah could help him get to the NFL, guess he didn't give a damn about Duke's 40 yr plan, he chose Utah for FB reasons.

We have no idea how that same Player looks vs lightning fast WRs in the SEC, but he is a good player, like I have said on numerous occasions, their is so much high level Talent in GA we should have better players on our Roster.

The question you should be asking, is did that Fr Safety from Utah get better Coaching than our Safeties, or is he a better player because of all the things he does in approaching the Game, film study, paying attention to details?

Speaking of gibberish . . .

You own the crown, clown. You are literally NOTHING but an excusemaking high school ratings dork. Go root for dwags and öööö yourself sideways.

Both of these teams are playing at a level with which our team is only familiar as spectators.

I was thinking the same. Little things like the DT spinning out and taking a deep line on an outside scramble, knowing where the line of play is, all the linebackers show blitz and the OL never doubts their assignments. It’s a different level from us

Out of all the posters around here, who is one of the few Fonts that constantly says, it doesn't take 3 yrs to find out if a Guy can play, we should know by the back half of their Fr yr, get the young Guys in the Game

That would be me!

So why don't you call out yourself and all your Pals with the out-dated "get old stay old mantra and we'll see what he give us 3 yrs after NSD"?

Those Fr aren't playing cause they were coached up, they got the same instructions as the other Players that are backups, maybe they are just good players, the Coaches didn't teach the starters 1 thing and then taught the backups something different.

Every coach in the FB Profession looks to get better Players first, then after getting the best Players, those are the guys that are less likely to "choke" at game speed in Game situations.

Coaches don't spend more time scheming Plays, they spend all their time finding better Players, watch the Games and stop listening to the announcers.

Total the man hours that NFL scouting Depts use to determine which guys to draft and then compare that to the man hours the OC spends scheming Plays and coaching em up, same parallel in College with Recruiting vs scheming Plays.

It's not close, WRT man hours invested

CPJ has poisoned the well that GT Fans drink from, we should be finding the best 85 scholarship Guys that can graduate in Communications and then go into battle with those Guys instead trying to out gimmick and out scheme Teams.

The best Players come out of HS and want to play grown man CFB , amazing that Elite Players are rarely attracted to gimmicks & scheming.

Keep posting though, you are simply arguing against the desires of the free market, we have to at least try to understand what Players want.

That Ladd McConkey play for the TD was an example of Recruiting the right Players allows you to go deeper into your Playbook.

uga's OLine is quick enough and athletic enough to to run that tunnel screen or jailbreak screen, no way can we run that Play with our OLine, those are the examples that I try to get other Fonts around here to notice when they start banging on our Guys and why don't our Coaches call better Plays.

You call plays based on the horses you do have and based on the horses you don't have, most Coaches at this level aren't stupid, the Players Talent Level dictate what Plays the Coaches call
