Conference Championship Weekend

How in the hell has Clemson not been able to find a better QB in 2 years.
 
Here's one for the rules experts:

* Receiver caught the ball and had possession going to the ground
* Ball touches the ground and it doesn't come loose
* He pulls the ball up off the ground without it coming loose
* Ball hits his chin and comes loose
* He secures the ball again before it touches the ground

Is that a catch?

The dumbest rule in football nowadays is “the ball can touch the ground so long as the ground doesn’t help the catch”
It’s the ultimate **** up. It gives replay officials aka the tv announcers (because if you’ve noticed the call comes back 3 seconds after the tv guys give their opinion on air) an opportunity to discuss. If the ball hits the ground, period, at any point in the catch, it’s incomplete.
But we went full retard on the rules many years ago.
“Yea it can hit the ground, as long as he controls it”.
Wtf?? The pass can hit the ground? As long as he controls what? The ball hit the ground!!

I feel like my grandpa yelling at the clouds now. I’ll show myself out.

I’m pulling against Clemson (not pulling for UNC). We play Clemson every year, we’ve defeated them once over the last 11 meetings, and they have been ranked in the top 10 for all but one of those losses. Anything that can knock the program down a notch here and there I’m all for. Losing the ACCCG would be one such notch.

Do you remember how good DJ looked when he wasn’t “the man?” It’s between the ears problem which is always hard to get away from.
 
LOL Clemmons goes to the Freshman and scores a TD. Dabo, you could be undefeated and going to the Playoff if you weren’t so stubborn.

Edit: Also laughing at the announcers worrying about DJ’s confidence if they don’t put him back in next drive. Who cares? The Freshman should be the starter. Stop babying the guy who had a few years to get it done and never could.

No. I never thought he looked good. At all. It was always a Kelly Bryant / Sunshine situation AFAIAC. Except Kelly Bryant looked much better to me.

In 2020 he played 2 games replacing Trevor Lawrence and played fantastic.
