I believe the term was "one of the most historic rebuilds in the history of college football." Repeated ad nauseum from day 1. Which was always a weird thing to say coming after a sure-fire Hall of Famer.

Let the irony settle in that this self-branded success story was bookended by going bowling just before and just after his tenure.

Eh, close games can go either way by the bounce of the ball or a single turnover. If Miami's that good, they'd have had a 2-score cushion.

It's why the biggest BS line in football is "good teams win close games." No. Teams that win lots of close games are fortunate. Good teams get 3-score leads so a single fluke play can't change the outcome.
