CPJ Couldn't win first homecoming, but Gailey could

Anyone who is far up CPJ's ass, pull it out at this moment. It was absolutely horrible what occurred in this game. We lost our home win streak, we lost our homecoming win streak, we lost to UVA gina, he stuck with Nesbitt on the last drive even though we know Jaybo is a better passer, he stopped calling the pitch after the pitch was what allowed us to score our first TD, etc., etc.

CPJ has lost a lot of fan's respect. I was at that game and heard a lot of people bitching. It reminded me a lot of the Chan Gailey days. CPJ has to wake his ass up and realize he is coaching in the ACC now, not Navy, not GSU.

I am not sold at all on this team until he gets a quality win. Next week against Florida State is his chance.
 
He rode with the best players we have to the end. Jaybo in that situation would have been way over his head as TF. Josh was clearly out of it.. and couldnt recover. It happens.
 
You're an idiot, and if PJ lost anyone's respect today their respect is not worth having.

This year's team is an experiment. We don't have the right pieces to run the offense but we are competitive and could have won today without mistakes. If you can't figure that out you don't know anything about football. BTW, you seem to have conveniently forgotten that UVA had closed down on the pitch in the second half. Think maybe that's why he stopped it?
 
Have some conviction. I'm upset just as everyone else is. That being said...CPJ is NOT Chan Gailey and quite honestly I'm SICK AND TIRED OF HEARING THAT NAME! Great coaches lose games too! Be mad about the loss... but don't be a wishy washy fan! I'm proud of the season thus far. We're 6-2 - CALM THE F*** DOWN!

Dude. Knock it off. We freakin lost to a team on a mission. It happens. 8 games into the season, we've lost 2. Better than anyone would have predicted.

I'm in CPJ's camp. Deal with it.
 
and yet, CPJ is still a better coach than Gailey.
 
I am really mad at alot of things about this game.

CPJ I am not at all mad about. He gives the players a chance to win, they have to pull through.

Get mad at our d -line
get mad at our o-line
get mad at dropped passes
get mad at dwyer for being invisible
hell, get mad at the refs for their missed holdings and pass interference no call.

But the coach? get real.

Not me. I'm very disappointed that we lost today but the consolation for me is that we lost to a team that was better than us, period. I expect UVA to continue winning games if injuries don't become a problem for them.

Those of you who think UVA is a bad team because they got blown out by UConn and Duke, go back and read what was happening to their team those two weeks. Not only did their starting QB get dismissed from the team, bringing Verica (sophomore who has never taken a single snap) into the spotlight but also Cedric Peerman, who is one (if not) the best RB in the ACC, was injured leaving UVA to be one-dimensional.

Our defense got rocked today because of Peerman. Groh did a near flawless job playcalling on the offense. I don't think it would have made much of a difference had Jahi been in the game.

Hope Jahi and Dominique still get back on the field quick though.
 
I disagree with this blog, big time. You can't blame CPJ for this loss. He couldn't help it that Josh made 3 TO's. He couldn't help it that our defense absolutely sucked. He couldn't help it our O-line played like 8th graders. He couldn't help it that the refs wouldn't call a PF on a UVA that stomped our guy (I usually don't blame refs that much, but that was BS).

Come on now. UVA is a pretty good team as we realized. Did you really expect to keep winning with an O line like we have? Our defense was exposed. And a QB who can't hold onto the ball?
 
CPJ will have a long and blissful career at Tech if he is not to be blamed for turnovers and bad line play.
 
While there were problems with our team, there were 3 crucial blown calls:

Turnover. I was in the front of the north endzone and even from 60 yards away I could clearly see we recovered the fumble on the ground, were clearly down, and then everyone piled on and UVA came up with it (and the refs gave it to them). How could I see this from 60 yards away (and my distance vision isn't that great) but the refs couldn't?

The stomp on our player. That was just ridiculous. I forget what the down situation was at that point but 15 yards is big.

The pass interference on the last drive. What bullcrap. Sure a lot of times there's debatable pass interference that isn't called but this wasn't even CLOSE. He was grabbing his arms for a good 2-3 seconds, right in front of the ref, and NO CALL. UGH.
 
Yeah, I Was Wondering When This Would Come Up. The Holding On Mj Which = A Td Was Unforgivable, They Really Didn't Even Give Us A Make Up Call. Im Sure Cpj Is Going To Raise Hell W/ Swofford But.. Uva Had A Good Game Plan- They Executed And We Handed Them The Football On Two "for Sure "point Drives. We Pissed It Away. Josh Looked Lost At Times And Of Course The Ol Is The Ol, And They Picked On Our New Cornerback. My Thinking Is We Learned Alot And It Will Get Fixed

This is pretty much all that needs to be said. Without the two fumbles and Nesbitt taking a couple of sacks when he could have gotten rid of the ball, GT probably has a W. JN did not have a good game today. Starting a freshman CB hurt us severely as I would think was obvious to anyone at the game today.

Give UVA credit, they made adjustments where they needed to, played well today, and simply beat us.

CPJ is a good coach.

However, CPJ was clearly out-coached today.
