CPJ: I've never experienced anything like this

I remember that season...horrible! I always thought Curry was good at preparing the team before a game, but terrible at in-game adjustments and decision-making. That season proved it, as he had all pre-season to get ready for Bama.

I always look back and feel we played not to lose instead of having the confidence to go out and play to win, we always played down to our level of competition ex.. Furman but always played great teams well until the 2nd half and then depth became a factor. Not until 84' did we get some swagger and finish the season on a high note leading in to 85'. We were really never good enough to play like crap and still win.

You know, PJ is really going out of his way this time to prove the preseason picks wrong again.

It was good for three quarters against Duke. It was good for a quarter and 12 minutes against UNC. It was pretty bad against Clemson and spotty against ND.

But good enough to win every game. We forced three turnovers against Clemson if I recall correctly.

IIRC, this will be the first time under CPJ that we finish lower than predicted in the Coastal Division.

I couldn't find the ACC preseason rankings, but here are the Coastal teams ranked in the preseason coaches poll:

6. VT
13. Miami
17. GT
18. UNC

Based on that, we were probably picked 4th, because we know how much ACC media loves them some UNC. We finished 3rd that year, even as badly as we played.

Lol!! Yeah, ok coach. We get it, you were right. "It's never as good or as bad as it seems" I will write this on the chalkboard 100 times, just turn the switch back on!

I still have my hope that they'll beat somebody they're not supposed to this year. We'll see.

Well they have worked their way to not being supposed to beat almost anybody they have left, so the odds are better from that perspective anyway.

We are favored over Pitt. We will likely be favored over VT and UVA.
