Not to be too much of a downer, but was anyone else a little put off by the ugay discussion? He seemed to downplay the rivalry a lot and at one point said something to the effect of "Richt has done a great job and built a really great program over there; we are going to try to start building something great too".
I only caught part of it so maybe I'll being too selective, but really ... Ouch.
Now, he is saying that publicly. Do I believe that's how he feels about it? No. Not at all. I think it is the most important game on his and the team's schedules. Especially coming from Navy, which has probably the biggest rivalry game in the country.
Navy didn't have ACC-title and BCS Bowl hopes, so I can see CPJ focusing on UGA and ACC equally if he is successful against UGA.Especially coming from Navy, which has probably the biggest rivalry game in the country.

He says he sells our recruits on the idea that choosing a school is a 40 year decision, not a 4 year decision, also sells Atlanta.
"Do you ever watch the tape of the Georgia game? High five your assistant coaches?"
"No, we played very poorly in that game. Left a lot on the field on offense, and played probably our worst game of the year on defense."
"Have you seen our staff? We won't be ripping our shirts off."
Come on guys you know the UGA game matters a lot to PJ. What was the number 1 goal he set for the team last year? The answer is beat UGA. Which we did. Does anyone remember what PJ did when we recovered the fumble against FSU? I do. He acted like it was nothing. But what did he do when we got the 2nd two point conversion against UGA? He was showing a lot of emotion. PJ is just saying the right thing.

Well, one way or another, he's saying the same sorts of things Chan said that really ticked the fanbase off. The salient difference is he's undefeated vs UGA and Chan was goose egged.
If we'd lost to UGA last year, and he answered all those questions the same way, we'd all be real pissed off. (including me)
Goes to show you something about fans, I guess.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I make it a point to teach my kids one very simple lesson.
"Win with class, lose with dignity."
We beat them. Richt knows we beat them. The Bulldog Nation knows we beat them. Whether we like it or not, Richt and UGA DO have a pretty decent program going right now. I for one appreciate a coach who is cognizant enough to win with class. I expect you will see his intensity ramp up as we approach Nov. 28, but this is April. I like the fact that I have an example like Paul Johnson to point to for my kids instead of a grown man who thinks that taunting a defeated foe is the better way to conduct himself.
