CPJ on radio now (9 am)

Says our deepest spot this year is B Back. Jon, Anthony, Watson, Preston Lines.

Thanks for the updates beej. BTW: It is Preston Lyons. He is a transfer from Colgate (?), but I believe he is a local HS product.

Oh right.

I knew it was Lyons, but PJ pronounced it differently than I thought it was supposed to be pronounced.

if you win you can downplay it ALL YOU WANT and it may arguably be more insulting to ugag

If we were to run off 3 in a row and ugag became secondary to VT or F$U it would really destroy ugag.

But this is a NON ISSUE b/c if you lose it nobody is going to care how much you prepared and if you win it nobody is going to care how little you prepared.

Coaching is a results oriented profession.

Would those of you upset about his ugag remarks have rather him said: "I hate those bastards and look forward to putting them through hell again"?

I'm not upset about them(since we won), but...are you kidding me? That would have been fantastic.

I think downplaying it is a good thing to do. Let's face it, Georgia did end up putting 42 points on us; something that should have never happened. He needs to make it known that there was potential for so much more from Tech, and he needs to, in a public manner, make it known that our only priority isn't just to beat Georgia.

Acting like we did very well would make Ugag fans just repeat their idiotic phrase that, "Tech's best team in years beat Georgia's worst in years." Making it known that it's only going to get worst for them is important. Then again, I don't think any Ugag fan's comprehension of the situation extends this far, so this whole discussion could just be for nothing.

"Tech's best team in years beat Georgia's worst in years."

This ridiculous statement makes me smile every time I hear it, which is actually quite often, I wonder if its the new slogan of the alumi magazine or something.

Heh, probably.

Yeah, I guess that would've jacked me up too, but PJ knows that no fuel needs to be added to this fire. Just get down to business, beat the dawgs and let them worry about making statements as to why they lost after the game.

That line about "beating the worst Georgia team in years" cracks me up. You mean, the team with two first-round draft picks and likely the No. 1 pick overall? That team?
Is there a link to the third part where PJ talks about spring practice and the contretemps with Wolverton? Just listened to the first two parts and I will say this ...
I knew Erk Russell well. Nothing hurt that man as much as when Georgia publicly declared they never offered him the job.
If for only that reason alone (and it isn't - not by a longshot), I accord that university no respect at all as an institution of higher learning.

Not to be too much of a downer, but was anyone else a little put off by the ugay discussion? He seemed to downplay the rivalry a lot and at one point said something to the effect of "Richt has done a great job and built a really great program over there; we are going to try to start building something great too".

I only caught part of it so maybe I'll being too selective, but really ... Ouch.

You say one thing and do another. Why give them any ammo. He won the game. Downplay it as much as possible, and then get up and whoop them again. Sooner or later it will just become an afterthought. I wouldn't expect anything else.

What would you have him say?
