Got around to watching the replay. It’s a 14 pt game in the 4th. Clemson then benefits from two short field situations. First was a failed 4th down conversion, second was a blocked punt. They push the score to 34-10. Game is over at this point…

Tech gets the ball back with around 6:26 left on the clock. Runs it 3 times up the middle and punts to basically just wrap the game up and keep everyone healthy.

First ööööhead Dabo calls timeout after Tech runs the ball on 3rd down. No ööööing class already… Then Clemson runs a hurry up offense, frequently snapping the ball with more than 20 seconds left on the play clock. On the final drive they throw the ball 6 times even though they’re up 24 in the waning minutes. I understand that they’re wanting to get the backup QB reps…but that is low class garbage. I wish a Tech player took an ACL on that final drive after that classless display. Douche Dabo can EABOD.

Running up the score isn't classy. I figure they wanted to make up for the slow start and pretend it wasn't close most of the game.

Hm...do you think that's why we took a ten second runoff instead of trying to score at the end of the first half too?

Have we all been misreading CGC? Maybe he's just classy rather than incompetent.

Pretty sure its our job to stop them. I recall O’Leary putting 70 on the Naval Academy (I was at the game in MD). I was kind of embarassed. Who knows what goes into these decisions. Dabo doesn’t owe us a graceful final score.

I don’t like Dabo either but why is it his fault? Why did we stop playing defense after 3 quarters?

I hope this is not a rerun of last year where we blew our wad against UNC then everyone figured out what we were doing, schemed around it and we had no answer.

Who gives a öööö? Don't want them running up the score? How about stop them.

You put in the second string and those guys want to get some good game speed reps and build their confidence. How fair is it for our fans to deny that right to some kid who busts his ass all year to finally get a chance to play?

Man, we really need to toughen the hell up.

Turns out, Dabo doesn’t like CGC any more than we do.

I would agree 100% if that last drive had been led by Ukele and the first string offense. But, it is your first game and there is a lot of time on the clock and you have a big recruit who wants to see the field and see what he can do. Our series before their TD drive I posted that Collins should pull Sims and get meaningful snaps for our backups. To me, the last half of the fourth quarter should have seen both teams playing subs to get them game experience, with both teams trying their best to score and keep the other team from scoring. Take a knee in the last ninety seconds with a big lead and pull your starters when the game is decided. But, I have no trouble with the winning team letting their subs play hard with five or six minutes left in a game. I had a bigger problem with Sims in the game simply handing the ball off for three and outs.

I’m pretty sure the old adage about if you don’t like it then stop them is talking about them running the ball with the intent to move it down the field. Not that the opposing coach will call a timeout to preserve clock, run hurry up and throw it all over the yard like it’s a dadgum 2 minute drill.

+1. It wasn’t the first string QB slinging it around with 5 minutes left. And we were idiots to keep Sims in.
