Was Reggie's problem really that he was too short, or was this just a convenient excuse to mask other "real" problems?
So Jaybo came in last year saying "I want to be the next Tech QB to beat Georgia," and then fell short when Nesbitt beat him to it.
Now Sims comes in with "I want to be the next Tech QB to win a championship."
I like 5'10" QB's from SC that can run and throw!
I would guess that CPJ, being a Southerner, will understand Sims no matter what part of SC he comes from. It took O'L a while to catch on to Joe's speech patterns.
I wonder how Doug Flutie was able to become such a proficient college passer? I know he's the exception, not the rule. Was Reggie's problem really that he was too short, or was this just a convenient excuse to mask other "real" problems?
Sims can be a great college passer. His height won't be an asset, but it doesn't have to be his Achilles heel, either.

Does this mean Laullen will be the QB for the next one? ;)
you also forget that Flutie was around when the linemen were not (on average) near as tall or as big as they are now. there were like 5 linemen over 300lb in the NFL about 5 years ago or something, now there are over 50.
when Flutie played it was MUCH EASIER to be a short QB than now. that is fact, not fiction, as beej's disparaging remarks are
