David Sims...

I stand firm. QB rotation next year is Nesbitt - Shaw - Washington, all incoming QBs get redshirted. The following year one or two QBs get moved to other positions, to make room for yet more athletes who want to play QB. Possibly WR. Possibly freeing us up to do a lot more trickery.

I think Washington will get a look at QB in the spring and then they'll decide. He was far behind everyone else IMO this Fall and that included Dykes. I just think he may drop to CB or A Back.

Really, all I care about is that we're one step closer to having the personnel we need for PJ's offense.

high school kids will LOVE our offense when we start installing all the trickeration.

that article should help us in the recruitment of aycock, dalcourt and cross if they're not already on board.

I hope to all that is holy that IF the "scouting report" from a "coach" is really what it purports to be, that the "coach" doesn't also teach english.

This has nothing to do with the kid at all, who absolutely seems to be a great blue chip recruit, but I'd be a lot happier to think that the "coach" who wrote this was someone who "coached' him by yelling "Go..Go..Go" from the middle of the grandstand..... that all being said and done, the recruiting in general sure seems to be going nicely!

Have you seen him throw? I was at fall practices and it wasn't pretty. Maybe he can throw the ball 20 yards but he can't make an effective 20 yard pass. It is no secret that in every fall scrimmage he never threw a pass much less had a pass play called. He is a good athlete though, very good. If he sees the field next year it will be at A-back.
All I know is that if he can't throw an effective 20 yard pass,, PJ would already have moved him to another position. I also think it's interesting that his profile on Scout his senior year describes him as a "pass first quarterback with excellent mobility". and "accurate on short and intermediate routes".

Its all relatve to what youre watching. If you watch Nesbitt, then watch Tevin....then you will think Tevin throws like a girl. Nesbitt has a rocket arm!
In this offense, you do not have to have a cannon, you just have to be accurate and good at the option. The little Hawaiian QB (Kapo) at Navy last year was a defensive back and wide receiver in 2006. He got moved to QB because of injuries. He couldn't throw like Nesbitt either but he somehow led the nation in pass efficiency. I'm telling ya....once we get the o-line clicking and the execution down, arm strength will not be a huge factor for our QB's.

IMO only people running 4.4 and better should be looked at for our QB position.

There are extremely few people that run a 4.40 or better in the forty....and they sure as heck are not typically running backs or quarterbacks.

What you want is someone who makes quick decisions, gets you in the right plays, and has quick feet (i.e. short shuttle time). If they can run a 4.5 to 4.7 or better that is all you need. Josh Nesbitt is a 4.55 to 4.65 guy.

Heck...Godsey probably ran a 5.2 after all of his bum knee problems and the right play call let him run 31 yards untouched against UGA for a TD.

+1

If a QB has the "IT" factor.....then the physical tools are far less important.

example: Lil' Joe, Goose, Danny Weurfel, Riley Skinner (until this year), Matt Flynn, Eric Crouch, Doug Flutie, Sam Bradford

Perhaps, i was simply just spoiled by some of the great GSU QB's esp Jayson Foster...
Who as a freshman was used to return kicks, he had quick decisions, speed and pure quickness...

No offense Yellow Fever, that kid wasn't as quick or as fast as Joe Hamilton.

I love lil' Joe, but you're wrong....lil' joe was quick as lightning but did not have breakaway speed like jayson foster.

JWE37 is absolutely right. Joe Ham was more quick than fast. Foster is a burner and was timed at 4.28 and 4.34 in the 40 in draft workouts earlier this year. The two are not even in the same ballpark if you ask me. Joe Ham did have a cannon on his right shoulder though where Foster probably had a weaker throwing arm than Jaybo.
