Dawg Dismay

This says a lot about this UGay team and the two conferences....ugay was down against the #1 defense in the nation...and came back to win! Wow....or was VT's defense really that stellar when we compare to the other ACC teams???

It seems that maybe the amount the ACC was down is more than the amount UGA was down. VT went into that game giving up less than 10 points per game against ACC competition and surrendered an 18 point lead to a bad offensive Dawg team.

It Freakin' Sucked!!

Let's not forget that VPI held UGA to 3 points in the first half and that it was Glennon's interceptions that screwed VPI over.

After the VPI game, I no longer think anybody could have played better than Reggie against Georgia. The quarterback that played before, Cox, threw more interceptions than completions in the first half and the quarterback that played after him, Glennon, gave away a 18 point lead. At least with Reggie, we were in the game until the very end.

Now, I'm you'll say that it was the defense that kept us in it despite Reggie. But can our defense really be much better than Auburn's or VPI's?

The player that wore jersey # 1 didn't keep us in the UGA game, he had three turnovers all by his lonesome.

My point is this knox, when the the mutts have decent coaching they should win with good coaching they should be almost unbeatable.
GTeven with good coaches has never been able to beat them consistently If they had Good coaching in place.

Richt groomed a new starting Freshman QB and still beat Tech, which had a 4-year seasoned starting QB. Prior to the game, everyone was saying this was our year with Reggie and Calvin on the roster.

Continual letdowns like this probably explains a lot of the cynacism in Tech's divided fan base. I'm still solidly behind our team but I can certainly understand why others might question some of our coaching leadership and team preparation.

I didn't say Reggie played a good game. My point was that it was indeed possible for a QB to play worse against Georgia, as shown by Cox and Glennon in VPI's second half. While Reggie had two turnovers (one on a tipped ball interception), we were still in a postion to win until our last drive. That's more than Auburn could say about Brandon Cox.

Not at all Ricky. Just pointing out the validity of the original point you made. Talking about UGA coaching - Richt started out with a QB delimma after Shockley graduated. Out of three newbie QBs (Tereshinski, Cox and Stafford), Richt still managed to groom a Freshman QB capable of beating us by the November game time. Damn-est thing I've ever seen. In a year that we were expected to beat them with our seasoned QB, we still got the short end of the stick.

My comment about cynamism was related to the issue of everybody stating before the game that it was Tech's place and time to beat UGA and it just didn't happen in the end. Sorry for any confusion but that game was enough to make you a bit cynical after all the pre-game hype that it was our time to win.

I feel pretty much the same way.
There are too many folks that just don't get the fact the mutt's are the domminate state univ in Ga.
Coach Dodd could not beat them when they had good coaching his record show that and I don't think there has ever been anyone at GT that was a better on field coach or recruiter.

Go away, wuss. It's pansy-ass fans like yourself that have us in this predicament.

Funny thing knox when you don't have an answer you go to name calling. Facts are Facts.
Fans have never gotten GT in or out of predictments.
I'll bet you're a real tough guy too.

Buzz, you could turn that question on its head and ask why Richt had to start a freshman when he had a senior with game experience on the team. In other words, why didn't Richt develop Terenshinski and Cox to at least be better than a true freshmen?

...and you do? All you ever do is run my school down in order to prop your hero up. Some who is willing to lay down for the mutts is deserving of no respect and our fanbase would be better of without them.

Keep your loser's attitude to yourself.

Knoxjacket,

Nobody runs GT down like you do. At some point, you need to ask yourself if there is something to accomplish by continuing to be an ass. If you're a real fan, you would recognize reality - Chan is going nowhere and start to be constructive in your comments.

I have been a GT fan for 65 years through thick and thin and facts are facts, your problem is you have given up and I will not. I believe GT's future is bright but I do not believe in quick fixes and when I believe CCG has been given enough time without the baggage he inherited then I'll say so but in the mean time I will not go on these public boards and insult the Insitute by calling The HC, no matter who it is, SA's, the AD or any other GT offical names, something that you seem to have a knack for.
Knox if you can't refute the facts why don't you just keep your mouth shut .
If you think running down the GT HC the way you go about it makes you a winner you're
LIVING IN FANTASY LAND

So, you're senile.

I have never called Gailey a name nor run down the Institute. We can be the best. I firmly and totally believe that. Neither of you do. Now who is running down Georgia Tech?

Again you make my point you insult and name call rather than point out what I said that is not a matter of record or the truth.
I want GT to be the very best it can but I don't want demands put on any coach at GT that are not at least realistic nor do I want any coach replaced untill he's been given a chance to be successful without his hands bieng tied the last I checked there wasn't a long list of coaches jumping at the chance to become our head coach.

Once again you are bad-mouthing Tech.

We can and should expect to beat UGAy.
We can and should expect to finish in the top 25.

Gailey's had five years to accomplish either of these and he's failed with flying colors. He had both of these goals dead to rights this year and he screwed the pooch.

The guy said when he took the job that the goals were to beat Georgia and win championships. He hasn't done either. By his own measures his tenure cannot be considered anything but an abject failure.

I asked Geetee to answer my question and he won't.

Knox, Tell us what you would do right at this minute if you were Drad?
