They've at least been in a national championship game in the past 40 years, plus they haven't had nearly the recruiting success that georgie has. They're underachievers, for sure, but not nearly on the same level as that other team.

Irish won in 88 with Tony Rice against Major Harris and West Virginia.
They've been garbage in the bowls since then but hey, their most recent natty doesn't have nearly the mold on it Georgia's does.

They didn't claim 1942 until the 1990's that I am aware of. Never heard a peep about 1942 before
