From start to finish, this game was a great example of 2002 Ga. Tech Football. The beginning of the end is upon us.

i'm still a FOCer.
you got a problem with that?

our quarterbacks have not progressed the whole season. we desperately need to improve on that aspect.

embarrassing game .. what the hell happenned during the last minute of the 2nd quarter? what's up with that?

bdg, they are in denial. Some of us knew we had an idiot running our program for some time. To call a pass play from your own 20 yard line with 20 seconds to go in the half on a muddy field by a scared Qb qualifies CG as being a SUPER MORON.
The odds for anything positive happening
for Tech under those circumstances are prohibitive. But the odds for it to backfire by surrendering points were great. A good coach doesn't make that call under those circumstances.
At this point in CG's time at Tech I would give him
a 15 football IQ. Crazy guggenheim could have called a better game. What a waste of our talent.
SHEESH. This idiot hasn't had us ready to play but one game this season.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">I don't know why I bother, but...
Who threw the pass?
Who was looking downfield when the pass was thrown?
Who was off-balance when he threw it?
Who has played in enough games to know to throw it away or take a sack?

Who has been coaching these players for a year now to know what, and what not, to do?
.
Would Friedgen, Richt, etc... have done the same poor job with this team, even with all its injuries?
.
Bottom line is coaching. We are a legitimate 8th place team in the ACC next year. If Freidgen was our coach right now, do you think we would be 7-6, with a loss to FS in a no-name bowl.
.
It is very sad to see what is happening to GT Football right before our eyes, and there appears to be nothing we can do about it.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Ghost, the bottom line is the players on the field, making plays or not making them. I don't care if the coach is Bear Bryant or Joe Kuharich, football is a game boys play.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Big Buck, this coaching staff will have more talent than the Gailey apologist will want to give us credit for next year after he takes us toward the bottom of the ACC. And if Debo is not at Quarterback we will surely be the most boring. I am afraid Gailey will be hopeful that Hollings will be back at 100 percent so that he can stick Suggs back in there to play it conservative and run Tony's ass off. In the process he will make one stupid decision after another.

Remember when Cremins was first hired at Tech? He surveyed the talent, and then told a couple of players that their services would not be needed. Our football coach (sic) should do the same.

statelinejacket, I'm afraid you are right. Things are just not close to being right. It will be interesting to see if CG makes any meaningful changes in his staff. If not, things will be desperate.

What is absolutely hilarious and somewhat pathetic are these feeble attempts to defend this bunch of morons. They even found "positives" when Georgia, our used to be arch-rival beat the hell out of us in the worst shellacking in history. Then Fresno State, that powerhouse which finished in the middle of the WAC, sent their second string out to beat a once proud program before a crowd smaller than half the high schools in Atlanta play before.

These people can't face facts or don't know them when they are staring them in the face - this program is in trouble. If you don't believe us, at least listen to Furman Bisher.

Tech has always suffered from a high percentage of luke-warm fans who are O.K. going .500. This is a by-product of years and years of .500 football! Big, successful programs DO NOT except this kind of crap....Tech does...has...will.

I agree with Belly, CG wasn't on the field, I didn't (maybe I missed it) see CG throw any int's, I didn't see CG fumble the ball away by using one hand to carry the ball on a muddy field. Sure I wasn't happy with some of the play calling. Do you know for sure all you hate CG people that it wasn't your idol BOB doing the play calling and tell me all you CG haters who in the hades is the QB coach? My gosh could it be your idol again BOB? Either suport this team or get to hades off the board and go stand on a corner in Atlanta and spout your venom and hate for CG, DB and of course your idol BOB. I'm sick to death of some of you guys and your ill disguised hatred of all things Tech!

There is just something about CG that p-sses me off. I am not real sure what it is about him. Perhaps I sense a "so-what?" attitude - like "what's the big deal?"

Belly you have stooped to a new low by placing the blame for the season on the players. Maybe I am totally stupid but I have always believed it is the coaches’ responsibility to teach the players how to play and to motivate them to give their best. Also the coach's call the plays on both offense and defense. The responsibility lies with the grown ups you referred to and not a bunch of 18 year old kids. If you are going to choose to degrade our student athletes then take your double wide and move over to the dog pound where you belong.
