Death knell rings loudly now for FOCers

Thanks bdg.
As for the thread:

Excuse me. I must have forgotten that when a team gets a brand new coach and loses the majority of it's key players on offense, we're expected to show up in the BCS, Gator or Peach Bowl. Heaven forbid that we get a sixth straight bowl bid, a 7 win season and an upset victory over the #8 team in the nation - NC State. Think they're not as good as we thought? They're currently handing it to Notre Dame. Think ND's not that great? They spanked Maryland. Think MD's not that great? They whooped us. Think we're not great? We beat NC State.

Yes, we had some major disappointments along the way, some of them were avoidable, but we had them and there's nothing we can do about it. "Oh yes there is, we can get rid of Chan!" Right. That's what we need. We need to get rid of a coach after one year which wasn't terrible, address the nation and BEG them to laugh at us.

Who will we get for the job? "Coach Mac". Oh, I see. What makes you so sure he'll want to leave his current job and come back? What makes you think he can win? To use a popular phrase from several Chan-haters - Wasn't he using GO'L's players? And he didn't lose any of them. He didn't have to worry about recruiting on a shortened period.

I have nothing whatsoever against Mac. He coached my dad in high school. My dad says he's a great guy and I don't doubt that for a second. But I see nothing to show that he was a better choice.

Yes and No...... Since Gailey coached the most lop-sided GT-vs-UGA score ever, it's a safe bet that that score won't be challenged anytime soon. But FIRE GAILEY NOW!!!

Thanks belly, I was going to say that, but I didn't know if I'd bee stealing an inside joke or something.

BDG, you sound like the media. "It's not the other teams doing something right, but always us doing everything wrong."

belly, good grief..."CG doesn't have a D-1 QB"!!??

You might want to check in with Kim King & John Cooper about their estimation of Bilbo. As for his errors(just like the one's Joe had his first YEAR!), if Bilbo still has them, like our current starter, SEVERAL games later, then I would agree with your curious at best statement. THWG
<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">He threw 5 interceptions in one half of football. He isn't a D1 QB yet.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">It's a GAME. Played by PLAYERS. It isn't "blaming the players" to say that they don't have the talent or the maturity to play at this level at this time. It's simply an observation.

What is the psychology of insisting that football is all about coaches? Did you guys who think that ever play sports? Games are about the people who play them- that's why they are called "games".

CG might be the best or the worst college football coach ever. Or he may be pure average. We are not going to know after one year. But however good or bad he is, he is always going to be limited by the talent of his players.

He may get stuff out of them they didn't know they had, like Erk Russell did, he may not get out of them what they DO have, like Jim Donnan didn't: but he CANNOT get out of them what isn't there.

Belly you stated: he CANNOT get out of them what isn't there. You are absoutely correct. So if your players aren't performing should you put someone else in the game or stick with the same players all season the way CG did? Again it goes back to coaching. Don't blame the players for the coach not being capable enough to realize they need to be replaced.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">You have to have somebody to replace them with. We ran out of RBs. We saw yesterday that DBo is struggling, we tried Jonathan Smith at QB in the UGAG game. Should Hargrove have gone in at QB?

Okay you win. Coaches are perfect and are not responsible for their teams play. Only players.

A lesson I should have learned from Bill Clinton.

I agree the person to blame is the guy who keeps putting AJ out there. In fact I kinda admire AJ going out when he know the reception he will get game in game out. But as stated with no other QB with experience who else do we have? DBo may have made it given 1/2 game against Vandy, U Conn etc. So is it really BOB or CG I sure don't know. But, I am sick of seeing Tech go onto the field in what appears to me to be less than prepared to play the game and that is coaching pure and simple.
