What are some of y'alls go-to stats when defending CPJ? I'm a big fan and couldn't be happier he's our coach, but as y'all know not everyone feels the same way. What are some go-to arguments y'all use to defend him? Preferably stats that reflect on his entire tenure, not just select seasons.

i smells trolls.

if it's not enough for you that he's 1-1 in the OB, has played for three ACC championships, and beat the mutts twice, then you won't find much help here.

That is more than enough for me. Did you not read what I posted? I was thinking more advanced/comparative stats than that.

Johnson won more games in his first six seasons than any coach in Georgia Tech history, which includes legendary John Heisman.

Since 2008, Georgia Tech has rushed for more yards than any team in college football. Over the past eight seasons combined, the Yellow Jackets have rushed for more than 31,000 yards, the equivalent of 17.6 miles.

Under Johnson, Tech's Academic Progress Report (APR) scores have risen every year with the most recent scores among the top 10% in the nation.

The Yellow Jackets have finished first or second in the ACC Coastal Division in six of Johnson's eight seasons.

Johnson is 8-2 in home games against top-25 opponents.

I don't understand, I'm not trying to start anything controversial. I just got in an argument with someone this morning about CPJ and I was just looking for some more arrows in my quiver.

Thank you, this is exactly the type of stuff I was looking for.

Honestly I've come to the conclusion that it boils down to this:

Do you think the 3O is a gimmicky high school offense? Do you think that cut blocking is for pussies? Do you think that Paul Johnson is stubborn and values his offense more than the success of our program?

If you answered no to all of the above, you probably support PJ wholeheartedly because of his track record and the statistics cited previously. If you answered yes to any of the above, you probably will dislike PJ regardless of any statistics.

CPJ won more games in his first six seasons than any other FB coach at GT. He Has been to 1 Peach Bowl, Two Orange Bowls. ( or 3 BCS/NY6 Bowl gams & Two 10 plus win seasons, Last to do that was Coach Dodd) 3 Time ACC Coach of the Year, 3 ACC Championship game appearances - 1 ACC Title!! The only downfall of CPJ is that he only has 2 wins against UGA!

Was it a Tech fan?
