Dennis Dodd of CBS Sportline says Gailey is already fired.

I don't know what I love more... the fact that Chan is about to have his ass CANNED, or all the limp-wristed whining from the mediocrity-lovers around here. I tell you what... I am LUVVVVVVIN this!

Hey, you choads can twist and parse these words no matter how you want, but a guy from CBS sportsline doesn't just put his credibility on the line for snits and giggles. This guy has been told something by a source. A good one.

Oh, the pain! Oh, the despair! You ignoramuses remind me of Dr. Zachary Smith from Lost in Space. And I am just basking in your patheticity. I am loving every minute of it!

Bunger out!

(The long nightmare is almost over...)

The guy is writing a section about rumors. I don't think his credibility is on the line.

Don't be dense.

>>In other news, there are indications that Chan Gailey is out at Georgia Tech no matter what. <<<

That is an opinion. But...

>>>Gailey has told at least one coach on his staff that he is going to be fired after this season.<<<

That is a fact. Gailey TOLD a coach he is going to be fired. Not that there are RUMORS that Gailey is worried he's going to be fired, but that he actually TOLD one of his staff members HE IS GOING TO BE FIRED. You don't just tell your subordinates you are going to be fired to get 'em all krunked up for the next game.

Keep on dreaming, mediocrites.

Let's see...the journalist says(no actual quote) that an assistant coach said that Gailey said he was going to be fired. No identification of who it was, no quote of what the assistant coach actually said to the journalist, no quote of what Gailey actually said to the assistant. Yep, seems like a rock solid certainty to me. You said that Dodd was told something by "a good source." Care to define what you mean by good source?

Oh, I love this. No attempt to show how this guy is wrong. Just blanketly refusing to acknowledge his credentials. Where's YOUR creds? This guy is a SENIOR EFFIN' WRITER for CBSSPORTSLINE.COM. No slouch there. Who the "___" are you?

The fear! I can smell it on you mediocrites like the sour odor of stale milk.

What are you talking about? I'm not saying the guy doesn't have credentials or that he's a bad reporter. I'm saying he's writing a piece about RUMORS, and one of the other items says "Memphis coach Tommy West and AD R.C. Johnson might be in trouble too." Does that sound like he is trying to relay a solid fact, or is it just a little tidbit that he has heard from talking to people? This isn't a story where he is reporting that Gailey is going to be fired; it's a bullet item in which he says he heard someone say Gailey thinks he will be fired. Basically it tells us nothing more than we already knew as avid followers of GT football, because it is so vague and unspecific.

Hell, I don't even like Gailey and I hope he is gone. But this article doesn't mean anything.

Bunger, I don't know what's true and what's not, but just choosing to take at face value something Dodd posts on a blog about rumors just shows sheer stupidity. He doesn't have an credibility on the line, it's supposed to be about stuff that someone said.

Who the "___" are you?
look in the mirror m.f.'er!

who's your replacement for gailey? can we afford him and to pay off gaileys contract? will he have nesbitts and m. burnetts coming in?

just wondering if you have some answers, because you seem to know everything.

And this philosophy, my friends, is why Georgia Tech has been, and is likely to continue to be nothing in major college football circles. It is not a wrong attitude, believe me. There is some reward in fighting the good fight, even when we come up short. But for anyone --Tech fan, or otherwise--to think Chan Gailey has done a good job if your goal is the conference championship, a BCS bowl, and beating Georgia at least 10% of the time is laughable. Chan has done an adequate job---if the goal is to be adequate. That is not what Georgia Tech is about on any other level. Adequacy is UAB or Clempsen, or Houston or Oklahoma State. The cliche is "good is the enemy of GREAT." Nice, adequate post. Enjoy the balance of this season. It will be adequate, I am certain.

Tech's not as broke as many want to believe. The worst case is what, $4m? I don't believe that number would hold anything up.
The best case is he leaves for the nfl on his own terms.

In reality, I don't think Dan is looking to StingTalk for answers.

I go back and forth on the whole issue. Obviously, this is performance based position and Drad is going to wait til the end of the season. IMO, this would be the scenario.

9-3. He needs to stay.
8-4 win over georgia. Stay
8-4 loss to georgia. Iffy. But we'd still be in the higher ranks of the ACC. (which isn't saying much right now)
7-5 Gone. It's time to get over the hump.

It wouldn't suprise me for Drad to give him another year at 7-5 due to the contract and the lack of a buyout clause.

As far as thread topic: Dodd dunno sheet! He won't lose his job though. Just wonder how many hits he's gettin' on that site from idiots such as ourselves.

You're Bunger Henry? I thought you were buzztheirazz?

Your sig quote is pretty stupid. If we had good coaching, we win those games. Try again, Sally.

As badly as I want there to be another HC on the Flats I don't believe that Rad would tell Gailey in the middle of the season that he will be fired at the end. And as much as I don't trust gailey's brain whatsoever, I don't believe that gailey would say anything to anyone.

Therefore I do not think the story has any validity.

This would be the best thing that could happen, otherwise we go through the same **** next year. CCG will never unite the Tech faithful.

I suppose that depends how you define the "Tech faithful" I don't include the Chan haters in that category.

You're the dense one here. Either that, or you wouldn't know a fact if it hit you in the ass.

Perhaps, you, in your infinite wisdom, could enlighten us as to which coach he TOLD "HE IS GOING TO BE FIRED"? Waiting...

Oh, yeah - ask Dan Rather about credibility in the news. CERTAINLY he wasn't going to STAKE HIS CREDIBILITY on a REPORT that somebody GAVE HIM about BUSH'S NATIONAL GUARD SERVICE, would HE? Gotta give you credit, though - you're good for 20oz laughs.

(BTW, did I CAPITALIZE enough things in MY MESSAGE)?
