Did Bbbuzzzooooffff call it quits...

Bbuzzoff's position was simply that Gailey was not the man for Tech,

Perhaps. But they punctuated that position with the most vile, vicious and slanderous statements one could imagine about the man.

Was he a great coach for Tech? No, not by most measures. Was he deserving of the venom they heaped on him? No, in no way. And it did nothing to help GT.

Hence my objection to many of their posts. For which I was personally subjected to obscene and ridiculous abuse of which ol' fart's was a mild sample.

..just like Cindy Sheehan's position was that Iraq was a dumb war.

The point is not the position, it's the methodology.

Bbuzzoff's position was simply that Gailey was not the man for Tech, 6 years, zero accomplishments and a drop from the winningest bowl record in football later...Gailey was determined not to be the man for Tech,...'nuff said.
Glad to see you again macongtfan, another voice of reason, many on here dont understand we simply wanted better for GT and it wasnt happening under CCG.

They also said a lot of vile and slanderous things about anybody remotely associated with the program to get at Chan. Any player or recruit absolutely had to suck because, well, because they play for Chan.

I don't think anyone had a problem with those who wanted a coaching change. What many had a problem with was the approach and the ridicule that many on buzzoff held everything related to the program up to. There were things said about Chan and our football team that none of our rivals would even say.

zero accomplishments

this is the lie that you guys continue to throw out there that is just a big fat obvious lie, and makes you look either hypocritical or a lier with an agenda or stupid... take your pick

I'll be the first to give Gailey credit for his accomplishments. Worst defeat at the hands of UGag, bowl record from first to 3 or 4th or something like that his record 2-4. Worst bowl loss ever. Worst defeat to Clem, loss to Duke first victory in years. I could keep on going but the list just gets bigger and bigger So yes Gailey had many accomplishments.

I was never a huge supporter of Chan, but OF you have chosen not to look at any of the positives like 2 wins over Auburn, wins over Miami..etc. You have to take the Good with the Bad.

Was Chan a good coach for GT, probably not. However, stack his accomplishments against any coach from the Curry era to present... Wins vs. Losses he was okay. How many bowls did Curry take us to? Lewis?

Let's move on, CPJ is our coach now, I think we are headed for some great times!

Thank you! Chan is the past so can we please just fucus on the future with CPJ and quit bitching about what chan was or wasn't.

You may want to check that jug of milk you poured in your cereal this morning. I think somebody replaced it with piss.

oldfoggy, that post is exactly why so many hated buzzoff. Yes Chan had some terrible games and issues with his teams. But he did have his upside as well. We lost to Duke but we beat Auburn twice. We couldn't be ugag but we beat Miami 3 times. The fact that you can't see anything positive in those 6 years just means you don't want to. On a scale of 0-10, I'd say Chan was about a 5-6, but not a 0.

- best 3yr record as new coach at Tech of any coach in history at Tech including Dodd, Heismann, Alexander, Curry, Ross, & OLeary (btw, this with limited schollys and 10 guys kicked off team not due to his fault)

- ACC Championship Game

- Best ever recruiting class last year (may be debatable now, but not after next year, imo)

- got Calvin to commit to GT (before you say how we wasted him, lets compare to Mr. Steagall who came to Tech as the previously highest-ranked WR ever, and see what he did under previous coaches)

- Most rushing yards in a Bowl Game for any Tech running back during Gator Bowl by PJ Daniels

- highest Gator Bowl score by a team - 52 points

- Produced the leading rusher of ACC, two years in a row

- best defenses for Tech in modern football history with JT as Defensive Coordinator. but i guess that doesnt count, why not? Gailey was HC. .as you can see Tenuta is not easy to keep around

- more players to NFL in last 6 years than in the previous 6 years... but i guess thats just crap, who cares about the kids

so there is just a few i came up with, oh and another one which YOU TOTALLY LACK: CLASS

you have zero, call the morgue to reserve your spot now!

My morgue date has been set. Now for you with all those records you quote how many wins on most seasons did it get us? Seven, Yes 7 as I recall. One year a good year at that, lost to Ugag, (again and again and again etc 6 wasn't it) Wake, oh yes W Vir. Seems to me we ended the season with our average for losses wasn't it 5? So tell me with all those records you quote why did we get an average of 7-5. Oh we did have that good year in there didn't we. And by the way you wouldn't know class if it bit you in the butt! Almost forgot tell me about the 51 points we got in the Gator and against whom.

Please dear lord, open bbuzzoff back up. This is getting ridiculous. If I wanted to read the opinion of OF and Yukon i'd sign up at BO.

To think it only took you 8 hours to come up with this. Old Man, you are a sorry excuse for a Tech fan. Please don't tell people who you root for. I feel sorry for you and your hatred for Tech. It's a shame.

Ol' fogolo, please confirm sumptin' fer me:

With Gailey, if I'm to understand you correctly, absolutely nothing good happened with Tech football. Nothing to smile about, no achievements, nada.

His tenure was a utter, complete unmitigated disaster. Do I understand you correctly?

See, I look at that and I see all these great records, but then I think:

0-6 vs uga

and I remember why I didn't like him very much (there were other reasons, but that was the biggie).

Granted. Agreed. But it not like there was nothing good at all about his tenure....

I kinda like being able to say we owned Auburn and Miami....

Disaster yes it was but we did have some good moments. The 2 Aub wins the wins over Mia when both were rated. If I read correctly Gailey every year had a win over a rated team. Then he followed those triumphs with the losses. I always gave the man credit when it was due but his disasters over shadowed his triumphs. Remember all the 7-5, or 7-6 years. The thing that bothered me about the guy he had leads let them slip away like the VPI game Thursday nite in Atl with his 6 threes and out due to his conservative play (ie relied on the D to win) his poor clock management at games end. His inability to come back when a team had lead even tho Tech was the superior team. These are just some of the things he did. I loved he ND game this year and thought he had the game well planned. Then he followed with his usual losses. He had this propensity to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory more times than most of us would care to remember.

Oh yes BZ tell me about the 51 points we scored in the Gator!
