Ding Dong... MBob's gone!

Who is in charge now? Is there an interim AD? Any talent at all internally?

I pity Bobbo in a way. He was like a child lost in the woods. Surely Tech can hire the "Money Ball guy" of college athletics.

Maybe a bit of an overstatement, but I believe this could actually be the case. The sampling of CBR, CGO'L, DR, and now MBob relative to the first hand look they got at the athletic support structure at Tech, and them bolting afterwards, does not bode well.

Well, no excuse but, the first 3 left for the NFL, ND & CU. Still no excuse. I think DRad was really upset by lack of Orange Bowl support.

Last Saturday, didn't MBob say he became a grandfather the night before? Wonder if the family lives up in Indiana somewhere? Just playin theatre of the mind.

It made me wonder why some of this stuff wasn't published in the paper before. Is there some sort of journalistic code that says not to expose someone like that until they are gone?

Maybe now some will understand why we do not get the "coverage" we claim we want?

Well, if we want publicity, we've gotten plenty of it from the AJC today. Schultz and Bradley with columns on Tech losing another AD.

They all left frustrated at Tech's culture of apathy, wherever they went.

DRad was already gone when we beat CU in ATL. He didn't just get pissed at decent support for the OB and leave.

CU has bags of cash. DRad loves cash.

ND has bags of cash and fame. GOL loves cash and fame.

Purdue has a bag of dicks.

DRAD was persona non grata after the way he handled our NCAA investigation.

Bud Peterson's focus is certainly not athletics. Attended a meeting with him and remember leaving feeling completely disappointed.

Odds are he'll get us another horrible AD.

I am really going to miss seeing old MBob at Tech events. His high visibility and encouraging presence were inspiring. He left quite a mark on Tech athletics - a real Doug Weaver of an AD. Good times are in store for the Boilermakers.

Radakovich was gone when Clough stabbed him in the back with regard to hiring a football coach after Gailey was fired.

Any blame to Peterson and the Board?

Things won't get any better until the GTAA Board has a majority of alumni and supporters (business people) rather than academics chosen by the GT President. I am as optimistic about the next AD as I am about the next President of the US.

I knew things would get worse when Homer retired and Kim King died, but we are heading back to the '70s. The only reason we are not there already is that we are getting conference money now and we weren't then.
