Do you believe Drake May was offered $5 million?

Or it rebounds because that's a figure so far beyond what can be sustained. NCAA needs to let people go pro immediately. It fixes the whole thing.
I think at this point we have no idea what is sustainable.

I remember when Deion went to SF it wasn't because the Falcons got out bid by the 49'ers, it was because Nike offered Deion $$$ to go to SF on top of the team contract. I am waiting for Nike or UA to decide to buy USC or some other team a roster.

Drake Maye who öööö the bed against our defense is offered $5M? I thought paying Sims $100K+ was a waste of money. This would take the cake.

I say let them. Let these idiots spend all their money on these players to play for them for a year and then another idiot pays ridiculous sums to transfer him. There’s no ROI, it’s worse than coaching buyouts. Faster everyone gets ööööed faster this whole thing comes crashing down. Let it all burn down.

Brown said yesterday that Maye had been offered unbelievable amounts of money to transfer. But, I have maintained for years UNC can keep its stars longer than anyone else because going pro is a paycut.

If Drake May had been offered $5 million dollars, which is more than the seventh overall pick in the NFL makes, he would not still be at UNC.
Wut?

Close, but last year #7 pick got $25 million for 4 years when you factor in the signing bonus

Unless UNC paid him $5M to stay.

Correct. Or even like $2 or $3 million I could believe it. If UNC really has that type of NIL money for football...that's surprising.

Look at what Caleb Williams did for USC this year. He was certainly worth that amount of money and then some. The problem is everyone thinks they are worth big money but only a handful of players are truly worth it. Maye probably is.

Is USC in the playoffs?

True, I was looking at the salary cap number, not taking into account that the signing bonus is front-loaded. The #7 pick has a salary cap hit of $4.4 million next year.

Still, no matter how you look at it, a $5 million offer would be NFL money. First round NFL money. Don't think he would be turning that down unless UNC came up with something in the same range.
