Dooley dead

Vince Dooley was a great coach. I've pulled against Georgia every time they did anything, but, in my opinion, they have had some really good coaches. I was at the "flea flicker" game where they scored on a trick play, went for two, won and beat Bear Bryant's Bama team. It was also early in his tenure that they went to Ann Arbor and upset Michigan. I was at the Tech game that day and, when they announced Georgia had beaten Michigan, it was the biggest cheer in Grant Field all afternoon, even though Tech won, against Clemson, I think. He was a good man. He loved history. His wife was nice, too. He was always a gentleman. A credit to the school I pull against almost every week.

Michigan was 4-6 that year. Not sure how one upsets a team with a losing record.

And that was the last game the dwags played outside of the south for several decades. That was Dooley’s decision.

I'm also a Michigan State fan and I love this. THWG, but öööö Michigan

Wait, Tech fans cheered for what?

Again, you wouldn't get it. Do I need to repeat myself a third time?

By all accounts a great man. Rest In Peace.
He paraded illiterate players through his program, intimidated professors to give them passing grades in remedial classes and got them fired when they refused.

He played the role of elder statesman well but don't fall into the trap and forget this guy was not afraid to cheat or do whatever it took to win back when he was coaching.

I'm a big anti-ugag supporter, and on the football field and what he did for that öööö hole is for the birds and I wished he'd have never been born.

However...

There is no reason to relish in the Dooley's passing. He was a pretty decent guy and not a POS human so he doesn't deserve cheering at his death. It's just a game, dwag.

But if we run a dedication reel for him before next year's mutt game, I'm going apeshit. öööö that noise.

Nobody's posted a dumb comment about his mama yet, but there's still time.

Yo mama.

Met Dooley a long time ago. He was actually nice to me.
So RIP to him. But frankly, this affects me in no way whatsoever.

He played basketball with my Dad at Auburn. He was two years behind Dad. Quite an athlete - football player for Shug Jordan and basketball under Joel Eaves. He was always nice when I was around him. Dad’s relationship with him deteriorated after Vince got to Georgia, primarily over some really dirty recruiting battles with Auburn, particularly Billy Payne’s recruitment. No question he was a very successful coach and a good man.

One funny story - my brother and I spoke to him after Georgia lost at the Dean Dome. We were both sporting Tarheel blue sweaters. He said, kindly, “So Jack’s sons went to Carolina.” We both quickly said, “No, we both went to Tech.” He looked puzzled at first, then realized we were there to pull against Georgia. His reply with a shake of his head was a classic, “The dickens you say.” Rest In Peace. You won’t get a Go Dawgs from me, but I will say a hearty, War Eagle.

I don't know how God deals with Georgia fans that are trying to get into heaven, but I sure as hell don't want to find out. Thankfully for VD God is merciful.

Sucking the dick of the coach who didn’t give a öööö when his fans cheered when ELI got hurt. Cool. You must be a huge fan of that.

It’s sad for his family. He provided them with a lot of dirty money with his cheating antics. I’m sure they are very appreciative for the money they got from him. öööö UGA and öööö his auburn education that led him there.
