Entire team is an embarrassment

Seconded. I admire Akinji for his halftime "we can win this" (met him and corndog at half), but even down three at half, I saw no way out. BG looked eager to get out on the field. Played harder. Our players just looked defeated at half, especially the defense. The body language showed they were beaten or had quit. BG looked like "we can take these chumps, let's get out there".

King looked woefully unpracticed. Looked like a different player. Missing reads. Overthrowing players. Skittish. Not seeing obviously wide open players. Just horrible. That film is going to be ugly. Weinke needs to work hard with King this week. If he implodes against Miami like he implodes yesterday after 5 minutes into the game, it looks like Pyron is up

God, I have tickets to Syracuse in November. Will either be a cap to a decent season or a total waste of money. Will just have to wait and see.

I was excited to get our yearly inventory moved from that week. I might have had to miss the Syracuse game. Now, I wish we'd move it back.
 
there’s losing and then there’s quitting … this team is a whole lot of the latter. never seen such half-assed play so early in a game we were up by two TDs.

here’s a thought exercise: when was the last Tech team you saw on the field that didn’t quit at any point in the game?

CPJ's teams generally didn't quit except maybe for 1 or 2 of the Gagger games.

We may never see a game like 2009 FSU again.

It's the job of the AD to make the case and get his guy. I like Batt, but he didn't win Round 1 for his most important hire when pitted against the GT power & money bloc.
 
There's nothing here that a decent D - just decent, not good or great - wouldn't fix. It wasn't the best offensive outing by far, but they did put up 400+ yards and 4 TDs, even giving up a sure FG for a shot at a TD... because BG was scoring so quickly. That's 31 points we virtually had in our pockets, even on an off day, but the failed 2-point conversion and the neglected FG left us with 27.

With just a decent D we win that game by 2 scores even on a bad day for us.

I think decent season already sailed. You can’t lose to BG (much less by double digits where you get run off your home field) and consider it a decent season. The failure epitaph for this season is already etched in stone regardless of what they do for the rest of the year.

I wonder if they gave Pyron more practice time this week expecting a blowout? Embarrassing effort all around this week.

The explanation is in the post. If we don't have better athletes than a non p5 team, then the kids who are lacking don't need to be on this football team.

He made the case, got their approval, then some slimeball went behind all of their backs, leaked it to the AJC, undermined the negotiations, and then the boosters balked at the fact the terms didn't come back rosy.

That's fine but I see zero improvement on the OL and the defense has regressed, unbelievably.
