Expansion

I found it pretty interesting that Tech was actually included in that video. Does that mean that at least some in the SEC still consider Tech a viable choice in any further expansion? If not, then I would have thought we wouldn't have been mentioned at all.

There was a weird bevy of interesting 12 noon games. It was a very solid day all the way through. Very stark contrast with the previous week when it was crap.

That is what is driving consolidation. OSU-ND, TX-Bama, Miami-ATM matchups draw interest. Where the model is going to fall down is what kind of interest does Ark-SC draw when those schools are perpetually 3-9 in the new super conference.

The hilarious part of that video is when Georgia looks at it and the strange thing about their schedule?— it’s actually difficult![/QUOTE]

It will shrink as time moves on. If they play all the time it will become a non-novelty. Ordinary.

If the ACC continues recurring annual opponents then Tech picking up any of the three western schools makes sense. The simple reason is Tech is the easiest school to get out west and back. In the end, I think any of the western schools could be good for us for recruiting purposes. Cal and Texas have a lot of players. Drop UL, pick up the west. Other schools are going to want to play the west but it’s not as easy to pull off like it could be for Tech.

But I think we get rid of any annual opponents.

Agree.
UL means nothing to me. Stanford and/or Cal are intriguing.

Yep. And they are going to lose ‘conference’ eyes. Baylor fans won’t tune in to see TX play bama next year. Now you get some Baylor wyes wanting to see TX lose and some wanting to see the B12 win. This new model drops all those eyes forever. Maybe you keep a few GaSo eyes that watch uga, but there won’t be many.

:bowrofl: :rotfl:  How do you feel if you’re below USC in this list? You think you made the right decision?!

Just get rid of Louisville, nobody has any interest in them. Tech had a nice series with SMU in the ‘50’s. Don Meredith played for them in ‘57 & ‘59 in Atlanta.
