Explaining the Inexplicable

Lots of dissension in that group and I will leave it at that. They don’t get along and their play on the field shows it
That's what it looks like to me also.

Did some Dude snake another Dude's GF, is it in that ballpark?

Meet the new defense same as the old defense.

When you lose your advantages the offense gave you, and don't improve at all on defense, you're going to have a bad time.

Do you have points per drive. That is a better predictor than points per play.

It is clear that something is not right. But only a few here are allowed to say what they believe is wrong without being personally blasted by our resident smart-ass and a few others. It's fine to disagree and to offer opinions, but let's stop the personal attacks.
Good-bye Nate? Van Dyke will put up Josh Allen numbers tomorrow.

No way Yuke!

Miami's OLine is over rated like UNC's was, and Van Dyke isn't nearly as mobile as Howell is, we get some pressure and some sacks tomorrow, and the OLine plays better.

We play our most complete Game thus far of the Collins Era, and we blow doors vs Miami!

I never hinted that the coaches were perfect.

IMO Upperclassmen Players lacking discipline is a bigger problem.

Remember when everyone said PNode was an idiot and that his Play-calling was flawed, now it looks like PNode might be a serviceable OC that just needs better OLine Play.

Maybe with more focus & discipline, our Defensive Coaches will also look to be serviceable Coaches

Remember when a certain 4th down call that was a handoff out of the shotgun in a game where our ol struggled?

In every game where you run 70 to 85 snaps , depending on the flow of the Game, there will always be 1 play here or there that can be questioned, that is true for Teams in the Top10 right now.

Giving up 636 yards defense, magnifies it, in our situation.

With our backup Center in the Game #72 we could no longer run nor pass , nor get a decent snap to the QB, didn't plan on 1 injury sinking our ship

We went from gashing them in the run game to doing nothing on Offense

Then with less than 50 seconds we get a bad snap nullifying a 31 yd gain giving us a real chance to tie or win, then the same player (#72) gets knocked azz over teakettle and holds the man on the way down nullifying another positive play, maybe a 1st down.

1 injury sent us back to 2020 level offense.

I just don't see how a guy can hold a P5 scholarship and not be able to do the basics in Game situations.

The equivalent would be a HS baseball player from E Cobb, that comes up thru the Travel League circuit and he gets to GT, and the guy in front of him gets hurt and he goes in and can't catch a routine grounder or pop fly.

You shouldn't have to be 3 yrs removed from HS to accomplish the mere basics in a Gm situation.

It seems like we have more than our fair share of Guys that act like they've never played the Game , we're a P5 Program with one lone serviceable Center

Joey Weaver latest article:

What’s less understandable is when a group like Georgia Tech’s secondary, which has seen incredible continuity throughout the Collins era and is arguably its single most talented position group on the roster, seemingly has gotten worse year-over-year. Even more baffling is that it’s happening under a head coach whose background is as a good defensive coordinator, and specifically one who had a strong track record of developing defensive backs prior to his arrival on the Flats.

There are four coaches that have some level of responsibility for the success of the secondary — Collins, DC Andrew Thacker, Co-DC/Safeties Coach Nate Burton, and Cornerbacks Coach Jeff Popovich. That brain trust has spent nearly 3 calendar years working with this unit, whose personnel is (again) arguably the most talented group on the roster, and whose continuity has been as good as anyone has asked for. The result? A group that’s getting shredded worse than they ever have before, looks confused on where to be, and seems to be having issues that are getting worse instead of better.

Plus can't tackle. Too much trying to strip the ball rather than getting the offensive player to the turf. Also, can none of our DB's get it, than when a receiver starts making a move to get in position to make a catch is when he is suppose to get his head turned around and challenge the throw? Geez that's coverage 101.
