Field naming rights?

First, there's nothing historic about Hyundai Field. Their $5.5B investment and the 8,000 jobs they plan to create right near Ellabell, well, yeah, that's historic.
And if you want to see a bunch of panties get into a twist, try getting it to be Daniel Defense Field.

The Cathy family from Chick-fll-A are mostly Georgia Southern grads. They have Glenn Bryant Field (Mr. Bryant owned the land where the stadium is. One of his three sons went to dental school. Don't know if one of the others went to college. The other one ... well, he just didn't really give a damn about much of anything. But then after Mr. Bryant died, the two sons in control of everything, i.e., the phone company he owned, got to feuding and sold out, including a good chunk of the tens of thousands of acres of timber, I believe. But I digress....) and the Paulson is for Gulfstream founder Allen Paulson, because he helped bankroll the stadium.
Though I'm sure the folks in Statesboro would be open to Hyundai cutting them a check for a nice big name plate sponsorship to the field. Wouldn't be surprised if they're not camped out on Hyundai's doorstep with hat in hand.

Not unprecedented even on our campus. Remember from about a decade, the Thrillerdome was known as AMC @ McDonalds Center. In true Tech fashion, the McD's golden arches on the court weren't close to the right shade of gold.

If you can’t sell tickets, you have to do something to make money.

Seems like a questionable investment by Hyundai given nobody goes to games and we play 20% of our home games in the Benz. I guess it’s a “buy low” opportunity,

Or maybes it’s a bigger relationship with GT, and the affiliation will help them hire locally.
Hyundai needs name recognition. A lot of people that don’t keep up with cars get Hyundai mixed up with Honda.

Wrong. It’s Historic Grant Field. Meet me on the 5th Street bridge in an hour for your ass kicking.
When I was in school that bridge wasn’t some candy-assed park that took you to a clean low crime area. It took us to a run down ööööhole where you took your life in your hands trying to get to the liquor store and Titty bar.

And we had to take drownproofing.

When I first read this, it made me feel sick. I grew up with it being Grant Field. I never even really liked it when they changed it to Bobby Dodd Stadium. I just like traditions a lot.

But, it really comes down to a choice between keeping our pride and becoming hopelessly irrelevant in football, or sacrificing some of our pride and having a real chance to be relevant in football again.

So, I'm for it, provided that President Cabrera and AD Batt get a lot of money for doing this. I mean enough money to really give us a chance to be strong in football and work our way back to beating Georgia and getting invited to The Big Ten or The SEC.

I also think it would be smart of us to build on our relationship with Hyundai. Maybe we could start playing one home game a year in Japan. If we build a close relationship with a major international corporation, it could be a good thing, like Nike and Oregon.

I know one thing, the last thing Georgia wants to see is a lot of money coming to the Georgia Tech Athletic Association. They may joke about us selling the name of our stadium, but they will really be mad as Hell that we're getting the money.

To Hell With Georgia!

Oh yeah, that’s where the hookers would wait for people walking home from cheetah and walk up and grab your dick. According to my friend.
