Field naming rights?

Everything will change when the Saudi's get involved with college football.

When I was in school that bridge wasn’t some candy-assed park that took you to a clean low crime area. It took us to a run down ööööhole where you took your life in your hands trying to get to the liquor store and Titty bar.

And we had to take drownproofing.

Real men used the tunnel.

When I first read this, it made me feel sick. I grew up with it being Grant Field. I never even really liked it when they changed it to Bobby Dodd Stadium. I just like traditions a lot.

But, it really comes down to a choice between keeping our pride and becoming hopelessly irrelevant in football, or sacrificing some of our pride and having a real chance to be relevant in football again.

So, I'm for it, provided that President Cabrera and AD Batt get a lot of money for doing this. I mean enough money to really give us a chance to be strong in football and work our way back to beating Georgia and getting invited to The Big Ten or The SEC.

I also think it would be smart of us to build on our relationship with Hyundai. Maybe we could start playing one home game a year in Japan. If we build a close relationship with a major international corporation, it could be a good thing, like Nike and Oregon.

I know one thing, the last thing Georgia wants to see is a lot of money coming to the Georgia Tech Athletic Association. They may joke about us selling the name of our stadium, but they will really be mad as Hell that we're getting the money.

To Hell With Georgia!
We'll all still call it grant feild. Just for media rights or something.

Hyundai and Kia are both based in Korea.

I agree with you completely and hope they don't decide to rename Grant Field...........
perhaps instead they can do what Staples Center in LA did more than a decade ago for their indoor arena league team by selling the naming rights to each down! (Yes they did this and stadium announcer was irritating)
It's the Jiffy Lube first down
Taco Bell second down
Baja Fresh third down
So Cal Edison fourth down
New perspective on Money Down
