best get its ass in gear! Offensively to be more specific for two halves of football. Georgia would have kicked the ass of this F$U team in much the way it did in last years Sugar Bowl. Folks I posted a few days ago wandering about how good the Seminoles really are and now I can honestly say they are not title contenders this year. Their offense is better than Auburns but not by much. Their defense is very good of course, but just a smidgen better than ours. Our offense sucks even if Reggie Ball is impressive or not. Florida States just sucks a little less than ours, thats all. That damn BYU gameplan needs to be burned! Georgia is no F$U people. They are a far better bunch because they have an offense their asskicking defense can be proud of. The Seminoles are not back so we should not be patting ourselves on our backs but we should start wandering about this offense. Where is Demarius Bilbo and Reshaun Grant?!!!! They are not not on any injured list...just the wasting away on the bench list! This five and dime offense is dragging a terrific effort so far this year by the defense down into the dumps. Speaking of dumps what is it with the special teams tackling. We gave up far to much ground on kick offs and punts! That needs attention also. All an all I can say this was no moral victory. An A plus effort on defense means we should have won this game, just like last year. Chris Rix and Greg Jones have been exposed by our defense as mediocre at best. But Chan Gailey's and the offensive staff's efforts on that side of the ball are being exposed also. We stand a very good chance of winning the rest of our games because of that defense....right up to when Georgia comes to town. Holding Georgia under thirty points will be extremely difficult if our offensive staff does not get its ass in gear. Thats far better than last year of course but that still would mean we lose by four touchdowns.

stateline, remind me again who you're pulling for this year? I mean the day after a great effort by the team, against a team favored by 24, after all the crap we've endured, you have to show up to tell us all how much we suck. Doesn't that bother even you a little?

Why ASSume fsu is not very good? Because little old usuns outplayed em? Kinda insulting to our guys don't ya think? Did u draw the same conclusion after the AU game? Did u watch Auburn dismantle Vandy, and yes Vandy is better than most believe. I guess you missed the USC/BYU game too huh? If they were to bring the effort and game plan to the table that they have the last 2 weeks, Tech would beat an All-Star squad made up of Clemson,MTSU, and SC, so just hold your water on ugag's greatness until after the LSU game. If they beat LSU by 14+ then yes they will be very good, but we will never know until they play someone who can pressure Greene (and fsu would pressure him). By the way, after fsu destroyed Ralph and ugag middled through the mighty Blue Raiders last Sat, what would your line on fsu vs. ugag have been...honest now. As for how good we are, let's see this Sat. We will either validate the last 2 weeks or take a significant step backwards. THWG

GoldZ,

I think Greg Jones is better than anything UGAG has coming out of the backfield but, for the life of me, I don't know what I think of Rix. That ball He threw that Rueben Houston intercepted was one of the worst decisions I have seen this year. It is second only to NC State running the QB sneak twice back-to-back. But, seeing and hitting the broke of post pattern to PK Sam was impressive. He also took charge and made the difference with his running.

I would have to say Billy Bennet win a close one in Athens if Milton and Gibson are healthy 20-14. No Milton, no Gibson and in Tallahassee - no contest. F$U by 2 touchdowns.

He broke that 3rd and long swing pass on F$U's 1st scoring drive to keep it going. Otherwise, our D-fense made him a non-factor.

N.C. and GoaldZ: I am not into moral victories. There is no maral victories to a team we have have lost to 12 times in a row. And I had not bought in to the F$U is back crap, just as I posted a few days ago! This is no monday morning quarterbacking here. Every Seminole fan I have talked to says we should have won the game. So why did'nt we? It's obvious why and if it is not straighten out by the Georgia game it will be a bad day. Coach Gailey can't afford a bad day against Georgia, ya'll know, I know and so does everyone with any remote interest in college football in this state. The BYU gameplan reared it's ugly head in the second half. Some poor tackling in the special teams department did not help matters all night long. These matters need corrected and now. We have a chance to win based on what I have seen when it comes to the rest of our schecule with the exception of Georgia. If we are to have a chance at payback for last year we have to get this offense in gear. I don't want to have to depend on the defense to hold everybody we play under 7 points to have a chance to win. Do you?

That FSU team had no Greg Jones and no Chris Rix and had basically no Anquan Boldin because he had to play a position he hadnt played since HS, FSU shutout UNC and held the greatest offensiive mind ever scoreless in Friedgen, for us to Score 13 was great and we shoulda had more, I am so proud of my 1-2 team it is crazy, I can't wait until UGA when Reggie is more seasoned and we can shut down there O like we did FSU.

Stateline.. I respectfully disagree with you.. and I mean big time !!

Stateline, why do you even follow our team. You obviously are against every thing we do, good or bad. We played a great game last night and Chan did a great coaching job. Chan is proving to be a great coach and will be Tech's coach for many years. Why don't you shut up and find another team to support? If support is the right word.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Chan Gailey is in charge of the offense which has scored 13 points..17 points..and 13 points. 43 points in three games. Chan gailey and his offensive staff have to get it together before it is tto late. Now Jon Tenuta is doing a fantastic coaching job! Also I said we have a chance to win every game we play the way we are playing execpt for Georgia. Why? Because Florida State is no Georgia thats why. Doubtful Florida State can beat Miami, Florida, or N.C. State. The Seminoles are not back, they are still down and I hope they stay down!

BYU the offense was bad because it wan't opened up, 17 was good against AUburn considering USC only mustered 23 against them and Vandy got 7 I think, 13 offensive against FSU was great too that is 4.3 times the offensive production MAryland and UNC combined for, when we playy Clemson Vandy NCSU our offense put up the Numbers but when you play the best D in the Sec and the best D in the ACC you can't expect 30 points

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Clemson was suppose to pressure David Greene. And obviously with 18 penalties they was not focused on Middle Tennessee. I don't know if you saw what South Carolina did to Virginia but none of it showed up in Athens yesterday. A pure butt kicking. They will be ready for LSU. Now the more important question is will we be ready for them? Not with this offense and also not with the special teams tackling! They have to improve and in a hurry. 43 points in 3 games is not getting it done.

I saw the dogs and I was impressed. Not as impressed as I was by what FSU did to Maryland. I have no doubt we could beat them next Saturday, never mind by the end of the year.

And then consoling yourself in moral victories because the results was close and that we had a chance to win in the end? Thats crap we still have to endure.

Stateline, you're wrong son. I'm not sure why you don't think FSU is that good. I guess you're basing it all on the last game they played (GT), since the 1st two games didn't mean a thing when they shutout one team, and held the other to 10 point (3 points defensively). I also guess that the reason Tech only scored 13 points had nothing to do with FSU having a good defense.

Reasons' Tech's offense has only scored 43 points (simplified for readability):
BYU, Tech had the ball 10 time (9 realistically), had 4 turnovers, had the ball for 20 minutes, and we were starting a True Freshman for his 1st game. You do the figuring from that info
AU, Auburn has a stout defense. if AU hadn't turned the ball over so many times on it's side of the 50, USC (a top 5 program) would have scored much less than 23 points. But I doubt you could make that realization yourself.
FSU, again, FSU has a great defense with athletes much better than ours, yet we still managed to move the ball OK, and put up 13 points on a defense averaging 1.5 points per game.

I hope you're still reading this Stateline, cause it's for you.

Also, it's evident you haven't been following the Tech program very closely since you have asked about Reshaun Grant. I'm not sure what you've seen (probably nothing) that makes you think he should play. Gailey has said multiple times (and repeated on message boards) that Grant is not ready for college ball. Simple as that. But, again, you somehow put a negative psin on sitting a college player who isn't better than the 3 backs we play with. Next thing you'll be saying, "Why is a 5th year QB senior sitting on the bench! Talent Wasted!" Won't surprise me.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">NCJ: Get off the 'who are you pulling for thing' it's stale and getting older then dirt! State is disecting the game!

Are we not suppose to do that because Chan is the coach? Will there be reprisal all season long when GT loses and if you see things you don't agree with you get into this "you're not a fan thing"! Nobody seemed to mind doing that when O'Leary was here!

Good game BUT we should have won! Point blank it was 2 different halves, we won the first and they won the 2nd - we need to win both! Based on what I've seen thus far (and this is a positive) GT should be 3-0!

Time to take each game, disect it no matter the coach - JUST LIKE GT FANS HAVE DONE FOR YEARS!

Wow, again, you have a great way of putting a negative spin on a positive situation. Was FSU 24 points better than GT? HELL NO! Because GT is under-rated. FSU will still have a great year (We can make a fun wager if you like that they won't lose more than 2 games, they can run the ball and throw really well(they just happened to run into a GREAT run defense in GT)). Incredible your outlook on a good situation. But, we'll continue this discussion after Clemson.

BTW, I was upset we lost, and I'm tired of "hanging with FSU" every year. I want that damn win, but it'll have to wait another year.

Great effort by an over-match talent-wise GT team! Would you agree state?

So far everyone is happy and I am an idiot because we lost a game we should have won. Again as I have posted before everyone wants to give our opposition every week too much credit instead of looking inside of ourselves to find out why we have not got it done. Fine again.

Great effort on Techs part. But the second half gameplan and playcalling was strictly BYU all over again. And I don't believe we are overmatched talent wise. As for Reshaun Grant I have not seen anywhere where it is stated he is not ready. All I saw posted anywhere was VAGUE rumors of injury....but nothing official. Also where is Damarius Bilbo? If you can shed some light on these subjects I appreciate it.
