And sooo many little things add up. Let's look at the last two years that held so much promise....we were literally ONE play away from winning 10, 11 , even 12 last year. We are ONE play away from having only one loss.
Why?
Perhaps the negative posters have made their sad prophesies come true...the barrage of coach-hate added to that one little bit of doubt and that 4 star didn't sign....perhaps the hate causes a player to doubt the coach and the system causing that crucial split second of delay....perhaps the victual bile poured out makes that nagging injury hurt that much worse.
Perhaps it's a self-fulfilling action.
I'm not defending Gailey; not in the least. He's had time, he's had his chances. I'm saying that some did their best NOT to help him. I'm saying that the next guy, I don't care who he is, should not be subjected to the same disrespect and hate that Gailey has had to endure ever since he came.
Show me where the hate, where buzzoff and it's minions has done Georgia Tech any good whatsoever. Show me.
People love to disparage the Hive for it's strict pro-Tech slant, but can anybody say that the Hive's rules have hurt the football program in any way?
Why?
- A lineman is tired because there's no backup for him so he holds....
- A receiver loses concentration and drops the pass...
- The QB hears the criticism and hesitates before throwing the ball...
- A DB, despite practice and hard work, just isn't blessed with quite enough physical skills....
- Any number of first line players have small nagging injuries that cost them a half-step...
