Society as a whole acts this way. The younger they are the more self centered. They really don't give a rat's ass about anyone else but themselves.The other players on the team don't matter? The fans don't matter? The program doesn't matter?
Why not just be selfish all the time? At work if someone wants my help with something, I ask myself, "How does this benefit me?" If it doesn't benefit me then why do it, right? Because I am the only person that matters.

People haven’t really changed that much. Most people have always been self centered. What has changed is the culture and the willingness to admit they are self centered. In the past a person would be ostracized if they admitted they were self centered. In today’s climate if a young person doesn’t show his self centered personality his peers think that there is something wrong with him.Society as a whole acts this way.
