It'll be $90 mil by 2030, then they'll all bail.$175 mil buyout to leave? I doubt it.

Cool, don't let the door hit them on the ass on the way out. It'll be $90 mil by 2030, then they'll all bail.
I don't even think the SEC will last as the SEC. How long are you gonna carry Vandy, Kentucky, Arkansas, Missouri in football?I predict ....
The buyout will become irrelevant by the time it's affordable.
What might happen before then could include a wholesale realignment to create a smaller pool of programs eligible to compete in a new 24+ team playoff. i.e. a complete realignment of a new "top tier" FBS division.
The viewing numbers and profitability are likely to change as well. How much more money can they squeeze out of this thing? Disney has been struggling. There have been major shakeups at ESPN and I suspect that will continue. There has been talk of selling off ESPN. That would likely lead to major changes.
It would seem that things are "evolving" so quickly at this point that things are likely to look very different in a few short years.
Yeah...this is the kind of thing that I think could blow it all up.I don't even think the SEC will last as the SEC. How long are you gonna carry Vandy, Kentucky, Arkansas, Missouri in football?
And the SEC has no exit fee. Nothing stopping Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, LSU from deciding to break away from the SEC and team up with Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Southern California, Oregon and breaking away from NCAA football. Maybe that is what Clemson and FSU are hoping for. That and an invite.Yeah...this is the kind of thing that I think could blow it all up.
The Bama's, Ugagers, Texas's, etc. likely figure they deserve more. They get the ratings. They sell the most advertising from the ratings. They likely figure they deserve more of the pie.
It's only a matter of time before some program pulls an FSU and starts rocking the boat. I suspect sooner or later the other conferences will follow a distribution model similar to what the ACC has now adopted. It's probably already on their radar.
Greed is never far beneath the surface. In any event, there will be more upheaval to come.
I honestly can't think of a single reason why the SEC would add either CU or F$U. I think they are actually better off not adding them. And the SEC has no exit fee. I feel the same. You can live without Tallahassee and you can actually break Clemson.I honestly can't think of a single reason why the SEC would add either CU or F$U. I think they are actually better off not adding them.
