Meanwhile the Perfect HC you dream about has a current roster with only 1 QB who has ever taken a snap in college. We need to set some cases of Dr. Pepper in front of the portal and hope we attract somebody.

When your known quantity at backup produces zero points in several games, rolling the dice next season isn't exactly a bad thing. I'll take the devil I don't know in this case.

What I am referring to is the roster on Ramblin'Wreck shows these QB's on roster:

#10 Jeff Sims - sophomore
#20 Brody Rhodes - a preferred walk on redshirt freshman
#?? Zach Pyron - 4 star prospect from Pinson Alabama

Probably a good chance the true freshman gets to play quality snaps this season though. Probably a decent chance Brody Rhodes gets some quality snaps as well if our pass protect doesn't improve. We don't have any known quantity at backup.

Exactly...scary in most cases but there's way more room to go up with a new #2 and OC than down.

Not sure why you equate my not-being-a-member of the PJ Fan Club to being a fan of Clown Coach?

The Dr Pepper cases comment was definitely :lol2: :lol2: though.
 
Seems like a weird transfer given that he finally seemed to win the job at SDSU and they are a good program. Maybe he’s just looking for another free degree and will end up somewhere like Stanford, ND, Mich as a depth/insurance guy

I dunno that he won the job there going forward, but he played well enough to capture someone's attention. I think he probably transfers down again.

If he can be brought in as an insurance type player at a school like Stanford, that is the way to go. Free Master's from Stanford is a fantastic life achievement

Yea. We gave Trad Beatty a free ride; LJ is certainly more accomplished than him and could garner similar attention from a P5 school looking for an insurance policy.

With Johnson's level of experience, almost all teams. Of I were him, though, I would limit myself to schools with more prestigious Masters programs. Stanford, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Duke....or he could just stay in state and consider Cal or UCLA or even USC in addition to Stanford

And yes, I said the train wreck of Duke.

Yeah it just depends on what he wants to do and more importantly what offers he gets.

If you look around, a lot of teams like Clemson and Auburn don't even have a decent starter. We're lucky to only have to worry about backup.
