Future OOC opponents announced

Forget losing games early. I hope they go undefeated and number 1 right up to the 29th. That way we get to take them down on our own.

Of course, I would be just as happy if they lost every single game they played.
UGAy losing and in great numbers is most preferable!

I agree. But based on their class they signed this year, along with all they have coming back next year from this year's squad, it's looks like they'll be winning a lot of games again next year. Let's just hope one of them is not against us.

Re: Louisville

What happened to Louisville?
D-Rad cancelled the deal and picked up Miss. State instead. He did it at a time when Louisville was on an upswing with Petrino and Miss. State was struggling. He's kicking himself for doing it now.

I thought that there was a post on this board not long ago saying that we had just pushed the Louisville games back until sometime between 2010 and 2019.

we canceled the series and left them needing a game this year...and a year later we pick up garner webb.

We chicken'd out; that's what happened. and now MSU is a better team than U of L.

Away games with good teams don't make us any money.

The game was replacing an away game with Army. That doesn't sound too lucrative.

This solution won't pack the stadium, but it will give us a good revenue boost for the year.

No doubt we make more money with crap games like this, but the same rationale could be used to scrap the Georgia game, for pete's sake.

This is my only gripe with the current AD. Our scheduling is BORING.
How much of that can Radakovich control though? We have to play 8 games against our conference. We're going to have Duke and UNC on our schedule every year in addition to Wake and NCState a couple of times. When you think about it the ACC is boring outside of a few teams.

We play as tough a schedule as anybody in the country. Wake, UNC and NCS are all formidable real opponents not unlike Ole Miss, MSU, Vanderbilt and Kentucky over the years. They haven't been great but can be tough to beat.

And UNC is going to come on here shortly.

I want wins, and we need practice games, particularly over the next few years. We can whine about crappy schedules once we're winning 10 a year and getting snubbed due to our schedule, which recently simply hasn't happened.

He has TOTAL control of OOC scheduling.

Great counterpoint. Touche'.

And we generally play 2 good OOCs a year with UGA and then a pretty good team like ND, Auburn, whatever.

The NCAA forces teams to play 12 games but it's difficult to sign 4 quality OOCs. Not to mention that nobody wants to play 4 quality OOCs anyway.

Yeah, but you don't schedule two home games against TWO Division 1AA teams.

The NCAA doesn't force anyone to play 12 games. It's entirely possible to play 11 games.

I'm doing a round-up for my site on BCS OOC schedules. So far, the ACC is the only conference with any team that has multiple DI-AA opponents. That said, some Big East schools haven't released their schedules yet, and since they need 5 OOC games I expect that number to increase. (Also, several schools play Western Kentucky, which is a transitional member and will be full DI-A in the Sun Belt next year. For my purposes, I count them as a sort of "half" DI-AA school.)

But outside of the Big East, the ACC will easily have the worst OOC schedules as a group this year. Bar-none.

Yeah, but you don't schedule two home games against TWO Division 1AA teams.
It's not like Dan went out and said "Let's play Gardner Webb!" By the time Army backed out most teams had their schedules set. Didn't have many options.

Okay, here we go again. You go find another team who has an opening on the date we got for the Army game, that wanted to play us. You really don't think DRad wanted to play Garnder Webb do you?
