Gailey has lied to us, we're screwed

This thread is evidence that some people need to lay off the coffee.

My pet peeve on message boards is posters who attribute motive and intent to coaches and players based on NOTHING. Casting aspersions on someone's character is a very unethical practice. You and paramedic are a pair.

Pray tell how is that casting Gailey in a bad light? He has accomplished not one of his stated goals. Myself as well as others only state the obvious! That's all. Five yes 5 years and lost to UGag 5 time, not won an ACC so tell me what goal in Gaileys statements has he reached?
 
Some people apparently aren't familiar with the concept of a "lie".

Further clarification of a statement that you misread is not a lie.

Failing to meet a goal that you set is not a lie.

GTL I am not the one who has lied here! You are lying to yourself and to all who will listen to you! So tell me which of Gaileys statements has he accomplished? Well I guess he has kept one. One exception tho and that is the next level and unfortunately that has been a level down.

I'm done with this thread as it serves no purpose! People can always say it's rosey (yellow roses at that) on the flats just ain't so!

Listen, foggie, read and understand, I'll try to keep it simple:

Coach Chan Gailey WILL NOT BE FIRED!
Georgia Tech head football coach Chan Gailey WILL BE THE COACH IN 2007 and beyond.
NOTHING YOU SAY WILL CHANGE THAT. NOTHING.

Do you understand? Well, do you?

So, please, please tell me what you hope to accomplish by continuing to demean his character and belittling his accomplishments, calling him a liar, and attacking anyone who disagrees with you.

I know you're a Tech fan - at this point, however your rantings are hurting the Tech program, in a very small way, yes, but they are.

Why would you do that, pray tell?


ps - Geetee, I'm not so sure about your loyalty to Tech as I am foggie's....you might also explain what you hope to accomplish as well, since I assume you can comprehend what I typed above as well as foggie.

If I call you a liar, am I not casting aspersions on your character? Do you really not see the difference between being unsuccessful and LYING???

I'll bet if I said "Foggy lies about stuff on Stingtalk all the time," instead of "Foggy is rarely successful at conveying an intelligible thought," you'd see a difference in those two sentences.
 
Coach Gailey has . . .

. . . never read Einstein's theory of insanity. That is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. I do not think Coach is insane but I do think he lacks the smarts to make decisions that put the team in a better position to win games.

He is not going to change Reggie out for another QB. The only way Reggie leaves the playing field is when his eligibility has expired. His loyalty to an individual is placed ahead of the best interest of the team. That is a serious error in judgement.

Look for more of the same vs. West Virginia. Maybe the football Gods will smile upon us. I think they owe us one.

Since when has Ball been consistent enough for Einstein's theory to be appapro. The majority of the time that he has gone on the field, Tech has won. By your estimation, Chan would be insane to try something different.

The assumption is that Chan sees practices and therefore, has more information than the average fan does of what the alternatives are. Until proven differently, I have to assume that Reggie is our best choice starting any given day. However, I think that benching him for periods could provide motivation.

You also assert that Chan is not rational because YOU know that putting in the backup would help Chan in retaining his job because performance would improve versus exposing how shallow we are at the position.

We shall see, but your logic is flawed.
 
Here is what I do know . . .

. . . for the last several games, UNC, UGA and Wake, Reggie Ball has performed very poorly. That is called a record and most all are judged on their record. Would another QB have performed better, well nobody knows but the odds are favorable that a change offered the best hope for improvement.

If Taylor Bennett, Jonathon Garner and Kyle Manley can not perform better than Reggie then we are in for some rough days ahead. Maybe Threet will be a golden boy and lead us to better days ahead.

Flawed logic or not, Coach owes it to the team to explore alternatives to something that is not working.

When I was young and before I went to college and became an engineer I said I wanted to be a $,$$$,$$$.$$ I knew the chances were slim to none so I was lying to myself and the friends I told of my plans. Well it's this way Gailey said I want to win an ACC and beat Ugag did he not. He knew with his record and his abilities to choose coaches and his inability to coach up the SA's (our QB as an example) he would probably be unable to accomplish his stated goals then he lied. The best of intentions and $1.50 will get you a cup of coffee in most any greasy spoon.

Nice one spelling bee. foggy as always had a problem with the concept of lying. In fact, there are very few threads over the years that he's participated in that he hasn't accused someone of lying in.
 
helluvaparamedic, just because you chose to read into comments in the paper, which may or may not have been accurate to start with, a meaning that you wish to occur, and then see another comment that isn't even a quote and also may or may not be true that refutes your hope, doesn't mean anyone is lying. What it means it you're naive enough to believe everything you think you read.

Also, the "fact" that you're convinced of anything when you have no direct knowledge of what's going on really means nothing to anyone but yourself. Personally I'm convinced this whole thread is based on your wishful thinking and nothing else.
 
Reggie will start and finish the GB, count on it.
That there are very good football reasons why he shouldn't don't matter.

It's like this, I changed my mind about posting very much like Gailey did on winning the ACC and beating Ugag. So if I'm lying then Gailey lied about winning the ACC and beating Ugag!
