Gators fire McElwain

not surprising. Gator fans have low tolerance for crap like what McElwain put on the field yesterday.

2 SEC East jobs will be open this year along with Ole Miss in the West. Hopefully Venables will decide it's time to become a HC and he goes to the SEC. But I expect Florida to go after Dan Mullen big time.

Florida will go for an offensive minded HC, but expect them to make a run at a good DC $$$. Florida should dominate the SEC East every year with their recruiting base.

When I saw McElwain’s post game presser I figured he would be out -he came across as a man who was in over his head with no answers. Sometimes you just know a guy is incompetent for the task he has been hired to do.

First similarity coming to mind was Ray Handley’s early nineties stint as the Giants head coach -clueless, combative with the media, whiney, clueless.

UF needs to hire a good head coach and OC -we can’t have the Gators crapping the bed in the SEC LEast -else UGA’s in the SEC C-ship year end and year out. UT, UK, Vandy, USCeast, Mizzou -what a load of garbage.

Aren't the Gators down like 9 players from the stolen credit card numbers thing early this season?
Yes but they just wouldn't have made that much of a difference whith that pitiful offensive scheme. Thought I was watching Chan Gailey's ghost yesterday

Well, count me surprised. How the heck can you complain about 2 divisions crown in 2 years, coming off of Will Muschamp losing to Ga Southern? But it's true that McElwain hasn't seemed 'in control' this season — and if the perception is that you don't know what you're doing, past success quickly loses its credence (cf. Gene Chizik).

I'm slightly surprised. I know he hasn't really rebuilt the offense as everyone expected, but 2 SEC East champion banners? Just seems a bit pre-mature. Oh well.
