The donors and former football players didn’t want it. I agree with you but we didn’t have the courage to dig in and take on that identity. It could’ve worked really well for us. However rules changes make it more and more difficult for option to be successful.

It’s a shame. It can still work efficiently even with the rule changes as well though.

I’m a fan. I’d have loved it. There’s no reason to think Monken was offered or wanted to come.
The recruits don’t like it. The coaching staff is still young they need to change how they prepare week to week though. Something is not working.

It was absolutely time to change direction. Fact is, the 2 guys who even wanted the job were Whisenhunt and Collins.

You mean the recruits that can't beat Citadel and NIU didn't like it? Oh no, whatever would we do without those recruits.

Even the ööööty announcing team we had tonight said that it wasn't a good thing to return a whole roster of losers.
 
I think some of us had unrealistic expectations(me included) and thought Collins was going to come in here and it was going to be like O'Leary years. Negative! This coaching staff is garbage compared to that staff. I'm hoping they prove me wrong but I don't have much faith in our coaches right now. This is unacceptable.

I’ve had very realistic expectations, and I’m very disappointed every season.

I don't think many of us had unrealistic expectations. We knew the transition was going to be tough.

What Monken does is a more modernized version of Flexbone with some variants. It was absolutely the right step to take then but everyone wanted hype.
 
It is hard to see how we have a decent season at this point.
Even with Yates it looked like the offense had to overcome bad play calling. At 21-14, we should have gone for the knockout instead of running poorly designed run plays. At the end, why throw short passes when you need big yardage quickly. We continue to waste time outs.
The vaunted DB's seemed out of position and prone to fall down at critical times. We obviously do not have anyone remotely resembling a shut down corner. The pass rush is no better than last season.
The only coach who seems to be doing a good job is Coach Choice. He should replace the offensive coordinator immediately.
 
Haven't seen a team so poorly prepared to play since the B***L**** days.
