1. Move Georgia State - Appalachian State from 11/25 to 11/18. Both teams have an open date that Saturday.
2. Move Georgia State - Coastal Carolina from 10/7 to 11/25.
3. Play Georgia State on 10/7, our bye week before Miami.

Georgia State is wimpy enough that they are not much more difficult than a bye week. Surely App State and Coastal Carolina could be paid to make it happen. State just got $1.1MM from the 9/30 Memphis cancellation.

There's an easier way. (Note: Tentative)

Move Georgia State-Idaho from 12/2 to 9/30. Both teams share a BYE on 9/30.
Georgia State-GT on 12/2, if Tech is not in the ACC Championship.

You could also do that with UCF on 12/2 (they're open on 12/2), but I think GTAA already said we couldn't in case we did make the ACCCG. So I don't think conditionally scheduling a game is possible.

I wonder if they will try to do anything if late October or November rolls around and Tech is out of the race.

Never play Gilmer Street High School, it does GT no good just a marketing day for Gilmer Street.

Me: I see no point in playing them. You only get credit for playing one FCS team per season.

Not Me: Georgia State is in FBS.

Me: Georgia State is in FBS?!? Ha :rotfl:

Stop trying to make 12 games happen.

Georgia St is playing Penn St this weekend?

Are they going to put one of those messages on the screen before the game like "... the show you are about to watch contains scenes of graphic gore, disembowelment and dismemberment which may be disturbing to younger viewers, older viewers, viewers between the ages of 8 and 64 and basically any viewers outside the state of Pennsylvania who don't work in a hospital."

Since when has Penn State cared about protecting its fans - of any age- against such things?

Despite the fact that Central Florida is the gathering place for the world's pussies, I've decided that in this circumstance I would rather have 11 games than reschedule for a 12th. When the VPI game got outright cancelled in 2000, we followed it with an awesome season which included beating a highly-ranked Clemson and demolishing Georgia. In 2001, terrorists ruined our season, our game with FSU got rescheduled and the rest was a nightmare of disappointment and profanity directed at Joe Burns. I will never forget 41-9, the score by which North ööööing Carolina beat Florida State when play resumed. That blowout win should have been ours, en route to a national title.

Actually, if memory serves, today is the 16th anniversary of the day we were supposed to play FSU in 2001.

Some of y'all act like Georgia State is a rogue state and playing them would legitimize them.

Really it should be up to the team whether they want a 12th game. An extra game can help them get to a better bowl. And they've put a lot of time into getting ready for this season, maybe they just want as many chances to play as they can get.

Or just tell UCF to lube up and present themselves in Atlanta tomorrow if they don't want us to sue them when their insurance claim gets denied.

No gate split, of course, we're just helping them only take one hit to their budget instead of two.
