Georgia State idea

Everybody wants to play in the ACC Championship. Obviously. Why is it so out of the question to think about scenarios that could occur if Tech doesn't make it to Charlotte? If that does happen, and Tech is idle on 12/2, why on earth would so many of you want less Tech football over more Tech football?

14 games > 13 games > 12 games > 11 games. Period.

I'm with you, but I guess some people think of it as a loser bowl. Like it's demeaning to play a pathetic team like Georgia State because we couldn't get in the ACCCG.

We are gonna win the coastal so it is irrelevant.

Because there are no scenarios that exist? Fool.

Georgia St is playing Penn St this weekend?

Are they going to put one of those messages on the screen before the game like "... the show you are about to watch contains scenes of graphic gore, disembowelment and dismemberment which may be disturbing to younger viewers, older viewers, viewers between the ages of 8 and 64 and basically any viewers outside the state of Pennsylvania who don't work in a hospital."

Georgia state almost beat Wisconsin on the road last year

Anyone want to take a shot at predicting the score tomorrow?

Got one score right. Didn't know that GSU was gonna hang an egg against PSU's 3rd team defense.

Let's make this happen! When asked on the radio show whether he'd want to play on our open week, Coach Johnson said "Absolutely. I would love to play that week."

Does tech have a better chance to beat Miami if they don't play? More time to prepare, fresher team etc.

CPJ was asked basically this question about the UCF cancellation and Pitt--whether it helps us. His answer was he wasn't sure--he thinks being in a routine is good for everyone, and it's good to get guys more game reps/experience. I'd guess he sees the extra nonconference game as a chance to develop the team without hurting in the division race, but also a chance at an extra overall W.

I think the more games the better. CPJ is great at diagnosing problems & honing the offense, and historically we've seemed to play the best offensively later in the season.

And even if we did beat up on ga state in the last game of the season it would help us over all in any way.

It would be weird to play our biggest, and normally final, game of the season over Thanksgiving and then come back the next week and play what would basically be a preseason game.

I like the idea of another game if we don't make it into the CG. Extra practice time is good and even if it's State that's still another FBS win for the bowl pecking order

Couldn't we just buy out someone's game somewhere for October 8? Maybe we could just purchase a UTC game. Their league might be open to it. Travel costs from Chattanooga to Atlanta is minimal. Or perhaps Mercer.

OTOH, historically black colleges have better bands so maybe invite one of them. I enjoyed Alcorn State's band. Much better than Jax State's band
