CPJ said post game blocking was screwed up and the numbers for UT were such that either TQ or Benson would have walked in.
If we blocked it right...

Also, how many OT's do you want to play if you have another game in 5 days?
If TQ pitches it, he's a genius.
Debatable
There was supposed to be a pitch guy, listen to the PJ postgame. Said it should have been a walk-in, even if we miss a block the pitch should have been a race to the edgeI don't believe there was a pitch man. Benson was blocking the whole way.
Who missed the ööööing block is what I want to know. Chip that guy just a tad and Marshall moonwalks into the endzone. It was the right play call too. That play call had never not gone for at least 4 or 5 yards all game.
And if we had kicked it, having already watched our kicker miss and get blocked, everyone would be eviscerating CPJ for putting the game back in his hands. It was the right decision, it was the right play call, it didn't work out. That happens sometimes. But people need something to blame, someone has to be at fault.I still have mixed feelings about the call for 2.
Our kicker was hitting pats at least. Next OT series you had to go for two anyway. I trust our 2 point play calls more than theirs and anything can happen on plays.
That said you can tell our defense was dead at that point and Tennessee was running through them like öööö through a goose.
öööö it. Is what it is. I think we have a good starting point to build on. Time for öööö everybody else in their asses and win out.
I haven't gone back and watched that play, but on at least two occasions earlier in the game I saw our right tackle seem to forget to cut his man and it cost us.Who missed the ööööing block is what I want to know. Chip that guy just a tad and Marshall moonwalks into the endzone.
Benson definitely didn't get in, but just from the couple of replays I saw it definitely hit the ground. The funny thing is, it barely touched the turf and the ref called it incomplete immediately, whereas earlier in the game a Tennessee receiver just picked up an incomplete pass and the refs tried to give it to him. And would have, if Tennessee had gotten the snap off quicker.Did anyone watching from home see a replay? They didn't show it in the stadium. Did Benson catch it or did the nose hit the ground?
The official who called it incomplete was behind Benson so it seemed a little odd the he called it. Not sure Benson got in anyway but just curious
Wow it looks wide open on the corner at this ver moment.
