Goodbye Coastal Division

Huh? Haven’t heard that. Anyone understand the logic of why the ACC did this?
Divisions don’t ensure the two best teams play in the championship. You will get better strength of schedule boosts from pod system with best records playing each other.

All that to say, the ACC ööööed us with our pod. None of our coastal opponents in our pod, and only Clemson being a team we played consistently. FSU would have been a natural choice due to distance or Duke as we have a lot of history with them (though I’d rather have kept VT). öööö the acc

Yeah, I’ll miss some of our every year games, but it will be good to play other teams more often. Our permanent rivals suck ass from a fan interest standpoint, though.

Yeah, I honestly wanted us to scrap all permanent games and do fully rotating. Teams that wanted to maintain a yearly rivalry could schedule it OOC like Wake and UNC have done in the past. This allows for an even distribution of opponents and no one school is guaranteed to have an easier/harder path to the championship (until we level up, having to play Clemson in conference every year will be a detriment).

What are your sources for coastal division being gone? I haven’t seen anything from KQ. Is it a done deal?

I was joking bud but thanks.

From a game/rivalry perspective I’d like to have Clemson, Florida State and VPI as our permanent rivals.

From a, “we want three wins” perspective, I’d take Duke, Wake Forest, and Boston College.

I'd actually flip duke and vt. Duke is our 2nd most played team.

That works both directions.
