Awesome metric. However, how do those interactions change business decisions that drive engagement to incremental revenue which in turn, translates to more wins on the field?

Its obvious “Coach Waffle House ≠ Wins” point. But GT is the fastest growing athletic department for social interaction (not just football). It’s a very positive percentage increase.

It's certainly a good thing. But it will only matter if we start winning.

As an old man that doesn't do twitter or facebook how does this help?

It does until it doesn't at which point all the kids have become old men like us and there is a new flavor of the month.

Most younger generations use social media -- it's a huge part of life for them. Showing big improvements in online engagements means that our brand is not only getting in front of more people but also eliciting responses from them, which is good both for generating fan interest and for recruiting. Both of those things are obviously good for football programs.

Is it going to directly translate to winning on the field next season? No. Is it the primary job of a football coach, or a reason to keep a failing football coach? No.

But it is still an objectively good thing, and anyone dismissing it outright is either not being reasonable or essentially saying, "I don't care about this good thing because other stuff that matters more is bad."

How much of this % 'improvement' is driven by the fact that we now have to access the main account for all of our ticket downloads and transactions?

Or, plenty of us are disillusioned with the used car salesman and his years of false hype and social media nonsense. Social media growth is a useless metric when you are a consistently terrible football team. If you think this is an actual positive for GT football, you are still drinking his Kool-Aid.
