GT football recruiting so far this year...

Then again, neither has Gailey.

He's unfortunately faced Richt while GOL had Goff and Donnan. The UGA-GT battle doesn't just depend on what GT does.
That's a damn good point fj! Never really thought of that before.

no, you, too, missed the point... do you not find it funny that the original post in this thread was saying that Ugag's early success in recruiting (ajc says they just rec'd yet another stud DE yesterday) is simply because they're copying our recruiting strategy now??? ours??? They have 13 to our 3...and, they're copying our strategy??? Shouldn't that be even, then? Like, they've never had recruiting success and we're the gold standard? Now, if they didn't consistently out-recruit us and win on the field every year, perhaps, then, the comment may have merit.

They have received several verbals from people we were also recruiting which stinks.
The point of my post was only to show that you lied in your arguments about our recruiting. That's it.

Poor Chan. UGA is just too good. He should be praised for not crapping his pants when facing the almighty Mark Richt.

Gimme a break. Richt is plenty beatable. Hell, given 5 shots at him even Bobby Johnson and Rick Brooks were able to pull of at least one win. Of course those guys were blessed with that superior Vanderbilt and Kentucky talent.

You're right. Ugag doesn't consistently out recruit us and beat us every year. They are now having to resort to such tactics as stealing our sales pitch and strategy on how to do things like recruiting because of that steller record we hold against them.

And Bunting and The Chest both beat Bobby Bowden, so I guess that makes them better coaches than George O'Leary.

Did I just step into a time-warp and get magically transported back to 2001?

Looks like we lost another recruit to those guys in red today. I thought we had a shot at this one. :ugh: They surely can't be taking many more and the state is loaded this year. We should be fine eventually.

hiveredtech says they are now copying our strategy. Yep, ours. Go figure. Ugag beats us every year, seems to always lands top prospects..and, yet, they want to copy OUR strategy? So, if that's the case and assuming we now have the SAME strategy, why are they at 14 verbals, we're at 3, and we're losing out to them on guys we've offered, too?

Yep, that statement makes lots of sense.

Don't get excited by UGAg's 13 or 14 commits. They can only sign 25 + the number of non-qualifiers they'll ship off to Hargrave that are off limits to us. Having more commits at this point of kids who have barely completed 75% of their high school education and haven't played their pivotal senior seasons doesn't really sound that smart to me.

Part of the reason for our success last year was their decision to go out of state so much. There'll be fruit left for the picking a plenty and the more UGAg picks out of state talent the more it leaves a bad taste in the mouth of upcoming high school talent and coaches in the state who've long considered UGAg as the all-star team for Ga's high school talent.

We've got to do our job to beat out FSU, Auburn and Clemson for the remaining instate talent AND get our fair share of the talent looking for better academics.

PS GeeTee = dawg

btw--could you guy's please not quote geetee...it makes his posts visible to me. thanks.

You obviously don't appreciate another opinion and only want yellow sunshine pumped up your ba-donka-donk 24/7. That's ok, some are like that, but it isn't very realistic. For you, I guess I could say:

Gailey is the best coach ever in the NCAA.

Recruiting is on fire!

Recruiting rankings don't matter otherwise if we're not #1

We've arrived as we're only losing to Ugag by a few points each year!

We only have angels on our team (Reuben Houston, CJ admitting to pot at GT, etc didn't really occur, etc)

but then again, you can't see this.. ;)

I wouldn't worry too much. Once we start the season off 6-0, GeeTee and the Buzzoff website will both disappear until the next loss. Skeptical? It happened last year after we put together a streak of wins following the ND game.

:laugher:

I've been here longer than you, big guy..

Here's hoping for an undefeated season. :drink1:

Buzzoff has been predicting failure every year Gailey has been here, always saying he'll be gone next year after we go 4-7 or whatever.

It's funny geetee mentioned Reuben and CJ admitting to smoking pot. If you have to bring up our problem players because he admitted smoking pot, then we have a pretty clean program. Because no-one every tries pot, unless they're hardened criminals.

Will that 6-0 start be followed by the customary annual asskicking, mindblowingly bad loss, slight bounce-back against bad teams, and then a three game skid, including a loss to the Mutts, to close it out?

Miami is the 7th game, so there is a possible loss. I'm not sold on Miami as a powerhouse anymore. They lost some key players last year, and will be needing to rebuild at least one year under the new OC. Army, Duke, and UNC are 3 of the last 5 games - there's at least 2 blowouts for us to end the season. VPI and UGA will be close games. No blowout on either side of the ball. However, VPI is without a seasoned kicker/punter/placekicker so we could control the field-position game. UGA is becoming a national powerhouse - I will be worried about that game every year, BUT the fact that it's a rivalry makes the outcome unpredictable at best.

I know it was a sarcastic comment not meant to be replied to, but I felt your gloom need squashing.

You can argue with history all you want but the fact of the matter is the last 5 years have all gone very similarly and it would be foolish to expect any different this year.

The UGAg outcome is anything but unpredictable by the way.
